No one has to listen to it. I don’t think many will.
I was there as a youth. Fortunately my grandad and myself escaped. Others didn’t.

We all know what happened. We don’t need “likes” or “subscribers” to make ourselves understood.

The title in itself is sickening. I will try ignore it but this country needs to start getting a backbone and standing up for our values and history.

Is this a rehash of what was in Martin Fletchers book? Didn't that have a conspiracy theory about Stafford and Tebro Toys?

It is, looks to be pretty much what Martin Fletcher said in his book about Heginbotham. Never believed it for a minute, as someone who sat in the block where the fire started for the decade leading up to 1985. You could see the litter build up underneath the seating from the discarded, fat soaked paper bags that the pies and pasties came in, old plastic cups and crisp packets. Factor in that it was protected from the weather and it's not difficult to see why it was such a fire hazard. Stafford probably wasn't the most reputable of businessman, but thinking that the fire was deliberate and caused by him is up there with David Icke's theories in my opinion.

Unfortunately it seems there are no bounds to the limits some will try and twist things to generate money, remember Martin Fletcher and his Fifty-Six : The Story of the Bradford Fire.
At the end of the day us fans who were in attendance that terrible day know the fire was not started deliberately.

Interviewing people is not going to bring anything fresh. Unless he has some new, reliable evidence (which doesn’t seem to be the case), then all it is doing is rehashing everything which is already in the public domain. Has he anything which wasn’t put before the original inquiry? New scientific evidence which is credible. I very much doubt it.

Totally agree Rod and with Broncs on #29. I was there like many others on here, stood in the Paddock and shepherding my lads away before pulling my Dad out of the Stand. We all know the findings so what does he expect to change. I won't be listening but tempted to just so I could take action against him for what I fear will be fabrication.

Our spot was the steps in front of the paddock mens loo. There were a number of us who nearly dallied too long! Patsy included.

Some of those guys on the day were bloody heroes, I was stood against the paddock wall just infront of the kiosk and gents toilets and saw several travel club lads helping fellow fans out, just imagine the outcome of that terrible day if Thatcher had taken onboard Ken Bates idea of fencing fans in with an electronic fence in front of then and jumping over the paddock wall hadnt been an option.

Me and Patsy grabbed two young girls off their dad right at the extreme bottom corner of the stand, pulled them over on to the cinder bit, we all then ran under the floodlight which is now the players pitch entrance onto the grass.
Wife and I saw Patsy the following day I think it was on South Parade , when we went to look at the aftermath and pay our respects.

Totally agree. These theories have been thoroughly debunked many times over the years. There is absolutely no substance to any of them at all. There is, & never has been, any evidence which brings into question the findings of the original inquiry. No new evidence has ever emerged. In these circumstances it is contemptible to attempt to give credence to unsubstantiated allegations. Such articles & podcasts only serve to upset, needlessly, the loved ones of the victims, as well as the survivors of that terrible day who suffered dreadful physical & psychological injuries. It is unforgivable & deserves condemnation.

    Hi.
    Understand what you're saying.
But speaking as a supporter that also was unfortunate to be there...
Are you referring to the Popplewell Inquiry, as "the Inquiry"?
Cos that was not an investigation to how/why the disaster, but an inquiry into general ground safety.

    That has always bothered me.

Well it did come up with a conclusion that Bradford City, The H&S Executive & West Yorkshire Fire Service were all jointly responsible, so it did have a specific outcome, although that may have been the outcome of the high court action brought by the Fletcher Family. The Popplewell report itself was, in hindsight, far too wide ranging as it covered a lot about Heysell as well.

The Popplewell Inquiry not only covered safety at sports grounds but went into detail about the origin of the fire. There was testimony from numerous witnesses next to the seat of the fire, and also from expert witnesses on fire safety who tested how the fire started, & stated their results. Also, there was no evidence of an accelerant. I feel sure the Popplewell report would answer your questions on these issues, as it did for me.
