Sorry. But it's largely about the players and the coach. Always has been. That's why Brentford and Huddersfield are punching above their weight and Huddersfield drifted in annual relegation fight when they had Robbins and Powell in charge

Unless of course, you have a board that has no policy or philosophy, which doesn't apply here - the signing of Riley emphasises that our board actually have a clear vision and amusingly it's almost a 'two fingers' salute to those who don't believe in it

I still can find far more pre-seasons far more worrying than this. I'd rate this as one of my most least worried ones

Malaga is probably the worst example that he could use. They spent about 100 million on players and wages in an attempt to get into the champs league. If anything we are opposite spending within our means eAch year

 

‘The Model’ isn’t the problem. Having a DOF type role and a recruitment committee, and a coaching setup that in some areas is removed from a ‘Head Coach’ is more common in this country than you’d think.

The problem is in the way he’s applied the model. Instilling himself as a DOF with no experience of the role, or the game in this country, and applying a wage structure that stops us competing for the better proven players in the league, mismanaging fans expectations and generally being a dick to everyone at the club - and who he engages on behalf of the club - is the problem.
