Paul Jewell: "Bradford City Have No Long Term Vision"

Paul is right really and there isn't much else to say about it!!

 

You scratch the surface with that outlook what Jewell is saying requires something deeper and bulding and that requires tying down in writing - that the club can be measured against. Not a few off the cuff comments/soundbites that the management can not be held to account. Sparks for example was telling us one thing what the club were looking to do on the field with young players after he took over - he then let Adams tear it up.
The club should have the supporting infrastructure and clear strategy/aims for all to see that any manager we take on - signs up to.

 

What is Jewell doing these days?

 

Because if you’re a player at a Championship club willing to drop 2 divisions, then you’re either shit or unaffordable or 37 years old looking for a last pay cheque

 

The fact remains in the end it’s all down to results we wouldn’t be having this discussion had Adams live up to his reputation and ego

Hopkin was a mother great example looked ok before us but was Aavery strange fish... every team like Sutton FGR etc love coming here to turn the massive bratfud over...I. (said with a huge tongue in cheek....ts a very difficult club especially managing expectations. We have been dire for a while. I remember being at Wembley against Swansea in pub in the West end saying need to enjoy this moment may never come again..... We went again in a few weeks v Northampton and the. missed out v Millwall a few times and then it imploded............ seems ages ago now.

 

City coming up with visions is not the problem. City sticking with a vision and seeing it through (even relatively short-term ones) is. There is no-one at the club with sufficient charisma and leadership qualities to do what Jewell suggests.

Do we not have a ethos at youth level? I remember talk of our youth teams being fairly successful and some players do come through or move on

 

Unfortunately that's exactly the area he struggles with.

 

Paul didn’t follow his own advice at Swindon they got promoted lost a couple and sacked the manager and back they came

 

To be fair Park that lad who partnered Doyle was some player and he was always going higher As for Doyle say no more......

The set up Edin introduced could have worked if

A) Edin knew football
B) we had better recruitment guys or
C) signed players higher up our shortlists rather then budget equivalents
D) we had competent coaches

Unfortunately none of A) to D) applied

 

He gets found out far too easily ………. I used to deliver them as a 12 year old Sat evenings about 1830 after already going round once with the T&A straight after the game.
