Looks like the Wednesday fans are taking it seriously that's why I believe picking kids is a little unfair on the traveling fans even though its only 40 minutes or so down the road, but if Bruno does and we win I wont complain ;).

Do their fans always follow in number for the trophy? Or are they after priority points

I remember one of Parky's first matches was against Wednesday in the JPT trophy and as we were down in Yorkshire I went to the game. The match went to penalties and it was a Sky broadcast. A Sheffield player walked up to take a penalty but Sky weren't ready so he had to trudge back to the centre a circle . He then failed to score.
Can't recall much about the game other than Gary Megson making early substitutions to bend the starting 11 rules.

I could be wrong but I thought Colin Cooper took charge of that match as Parkinson had only been appointed the day before or the day of the game. A couple of things I remember from that game were that Richard O'Donnell came on for them in the 2nd minute and they made 2 further subs after 15 minutes to get around the selection rules before the EFL clamped down on that. Also remember about the penalty you mention, I think it was Clinton Morrison who took it and nearly cleared the TL Dallas stand.

It was Cooper who was in charge, I was in Egypt at the time and PM a member on C&B asking why Cooper was not offered the job, so glad they didn't.

Cooper was in charge for that game, Parkinson was announced as manager on the Sunday before but decided to let Cooper have the JPT game. What a weird summer that was.

Looked at the team for that match and in goal for us was Oscar Jansson.
I was at the game but have absolutely no recollection of that player ever playing for us.

Question for fellow bantam talkers, do we want to see us have a go in this cup or are we not too fussed?

personally id like a trip to Wembley but understand we have bigger tasks at hand!

Personally I'd like a balance between giving players minutes who need it and looking to qualify as if feel this is a group we can get out of. With £10k being available for each win in the group on top of the £20k participation fee there's a decent amount of money available if you can go on a bit of a run. If you get to the final and win every group stage match it's worth £260k in prize money alone. Typically clubs who make it to the final estimate it to be worth over £1mil. Whereas other competitions you can draw big teams which distract teams like we saw in 2012/13 that doesn't really happen with this until you get to the semi final stage.

Play the guys who are just coming back to fitness like Odusina & Hendrie along with giving game time to guys like Foulds, Sutton, Songo'o and Harratt who haven't started that many games so far. Hope for the best as every team goes into this competition with their spares staring, if you get to the knockouts maybe give it a go a little but if not, nothing much lost and the squad players get some proper game time.

Some teams actually lose money putting games on in this tournament when they get little crowds. Needs a revamp, it's the football league trophy with a third of the EFL not taking part and adding B teams involvement, it just makes zero sense anymore and hasn't for years.
