I think it's far too early to write him off. He's desperate to score and it showed in the two guilt edged chances he missed. We as fans have a tendency to write players off too soon. I believe once he finds the net, he'll find the confidence to bully league 2 defenders and show us the reason why Hughes brought him in. Saying that, he probably came thinking he was the star signing and everyone would be looking for him when attacking, but he's got to earn that billing and put a right shift in to get his critics back onside.

I think a goal would do him the world of good but you simply cannot shift Andy Cook out of the way at the moment .............. least this season we are actually giving Hughes problems for team selections rather the shambles that we saw from our fringe players last season............

I feel for the lad because he's clearly desperate to open his account with us and had either or both of his decent chances to score last night hit the back of the net, he'd have got that monkey off his back and it would have done wonders for his confidence. Like you say though, the longer it goes on the harder it gets for strikers that aren't scoring, especially if they are coming on from the bench and are expected to make an impact. Let's hope sooner rather than later we give someone a right drubbing and by the time Oliver comes on, we are already 4 or 5 goals to the good so there's no pressure on him to score. That might just help him to bag his first and then hopefully he can really start to kick on.
