Good initiative taking advantage of the feel good factor now at VP. I would imagine they will be putting all the 50 or so Colchester fans in A block in the main stand to accommodate more home fans into the ground.

You can steward it if you thinks it’s a detriment., The “ tickets are numbered per seat so what makes you think they will sit in “ your” seat?. If they are potential future fans , new to the stadium any decent fan would help them to find the right seat if it happens. Are you decent enough or would you tell em to frck iff?

Looking like this will be a very tough match and we'll need the crowd. Colchester are currently on an 11 game unbeaten run and dragged themselves away from the relegation fight and into the play off race. After today's results they've now lost the fewest games in the division with 7 but drawn a league high of 16 so they will be tough to beat.

I think it will be our toughest home game of the remaining 5 left.

so a season ticket seat is not yours, I have told people to move plenty of times, I take it you don't mind day trippers sitting in your seat if you have a season ticket

No I don’t, however my first was in around 1967, straight through until 2004 , the last 7 years of which our three season holders lived 200 miles away, a 400 mile round trip. Any other questions I’d be happy to enlighten you .

What part don’t you follow that they may have never been to VP in their life and unlikely to know their way around?.

Remember it’s an incentive designed to attract NEW supporters. Reasonable supporters would help them to find their seat , yet others seem to prefer name calling “ seat stealers” or “Day trippers” … you must be really special.

Replying to myself, but I think some people misunderstood me. I had just before said that there were no free seats in my block as they are all filled with season ticket holders (C block main stand). Then I said that inviting a friend is like inviting a friend to soembody else's house. I thought it was just a light-hearted way of pointing out the difficulty of inviting friends to sit with you when there is nowhere to sit. I was not being grumpy.
I don't decry the initiative of offering seats to newcomers at a fiver, but where would they go? Maybe sitting alone is OK for new people but not really invite a friend.
Anyhoo, I hope extra tickets are sold somewhere in the ground. Maybe publish singalong sheets about "I am a City fan" etc.

Speaking of Colchester, looks like the Cowleys have turned the ship around. On a very good run at the moment, maybe too late for a playoff spot but still possibly enough games left.

If someone is sitting in my seat i just sit somewhere else, I'm not bothered as long as I get to watch the match.

There's always one team every season that seem to come out of nowhere to make the playoffs and I think Colchester could be that team this year. They are now sitting just 4 points off 7th with a game in hand and are in excellent form. If they can keep that going, it's very much in their own hands, given they are still to play Vale, us, Grimsby, Notts, Crewe, Donny and Salford, who have currently dropped out of the race a little bit and sit 2 points below Colchester.

Looks to selling well so far with the only seats next to each other in the lower tier in block F of the kop. Hopefully we can get a win on Saturday which will probably help sell some more

All looks very impressive on the seat map…..until matchday arrives and there’s rows and rows of empty seats like last Tuesday night.

Stop worrying yourself , lots of those seats are paid for . The payee decided to stay at home. The reason why is no one’s business.

I’m not disputing that they are paid for. I’m sure the club are grateful to those payees for their donations.

That situation has not arisen as yet but if we waited for a so called stewards to sort it we'd wait all day, it's easier to say show us your ticket then point them in the right direction usually hospitality, for some reason they get the row correct but not the seat number **so funny**so funny.

The trouble is that all I have these days is a QR code on my phone wallet, it doesn’t actually say what Block/Row/Seat etc!
In the past, very occasionally we have had some in our seats, but always successfully asked them to leave.
The block has regulars and we know which seats are which.
