    Exactly.

    Well said.

The club are already rewarding with a loyalty system so they can keep going to away games with impunity.

They don't need to wear a medal (much less carry a cross around like a martyr).

Don’t need a pat on the back or any kind of medal but to suggest that fans aren’t entitled to voice their opinion at the end of a poor performance is naive.

I think they should be allowed an opinion. It's the whole idea of being 'owed' something for their loyalty that I'm not sure about. Nobody travels out of a sense of obligation.

I haven’t seen if he’s been mentioned, but I thought Josh Kay at Barrow shone last season. Against us he was a proper nuisance and full of legs, and I thought at the time he would be perfect for us.

Barrow offered him a contract and he turned it down and is (surprisingly to me) still a free agent.

Was in talks with Northampton. But if he can’t agree a move there, good shout!

If I remember correctly, Kay plays in a similar role to Pattison, so I think we are covered there.

    Priorities lie elsewhere surely?

That said, surprised he has not signed for anyone yet. I believe Northampton were showing interest

Yes I think you’re right - however I’ve also seen him described as a forward and also a winger so hard to see where he would fit in.

You don't need to worry about that. This summer is all about signing players that are versatile and can adapt to a number of different formations. We'd definitely fit him in somewhere, but probably not in any of the positions you've mentioned.

The best part of away games is the travel and the laugh you have with like minded mates. Forget the 90 minutes of football, that's just usually a disappointment. If it's a great game it's a bonus. Hey, I get it if you want to stamp your feet and 'vent' at the players and management then go ahead. I'm not sure I've ever seen a set of fans be apoplectic with rage after one game of a season though, maybe we are a unique set of fans.

Both are absolutely fine. Nothing wrong with them at all. Solid reliable professionals.

Ok, I’ll backtrack slightly. They are both reasonable league2 full backs but woeful wing backs. Neither can put a decent cross in, therefore limiting chances for Cook.

I agree with you that the travel and the pre match is often the best part of the day but occasionally it does dawn on me the actual reason I’m there and that is to be entertained by a game of football and sometimes I need to have a paddy.
Saturday was one of those occasions…so shoot me.

I think it was the 'WTF' moment when we saw the teamsheet. Without being privy to the fitness of all the players, I don't think any supporter would've selected that team, nevermind that formation. I think Hughes made the mistake of expecting an easier game based on Crawleys disarray. I knew and said as much beforehand, that the game would be tougher than we thought. That team selection had the appearance of somebody rocking up on Saturday morning and seeing the players for the first time. That's the worrying thing and the reason why some supporters are concerned. He's had a full preseason and majority of the window and that was the best team and performance he could put out.

There's nothing wrong with having a go after a long journey, I was like that last season after I went to Swindon to watch shite on a Tuesday night.. I'm not gonna have a go at the players just yet though, it needs to be Bowyeresque before I go to those lengths. I'll be honest I've not got the buzz back for football yet after the play off debacle so Saturday didn't bother me that much.
I will say this new line up has never been my favoured line up and I'm not sure how it fixes last season's problems without the addition of high quality wing backs. The whole team looked disjointed and it was more the individual effort of Walker and Oduor that stood out.

I wasn't sure myself but after watching the reply a few time it looked to go head high around the wall and dip into the corner, the last player in the wall Walker ? turns his back allowing the ball to go round him Hughes commented about the wall line up he must have though we could have done better.

If we had Meredith and McMahon in this team we’d piss it with 100 points.
Equally if we played 4-4-2 with Wright and Banks on the wings it would be very exciting to watch

The more I watch those highlights, the more they annoy me. Taylor is bloody woeful, watching it live I didn't realise it was his inability to control a ball that led to them hitting the crossbar. And Ridehalgh heading it tamely at their keeper late on was also infuriating. Should have buried it

The sending off should never have happened, the initial shocking back pass from Smallwood (who never looked back to see if anyone was under pressure was poor but not the first time we seen that happen) then as I've posted Taylor should have put the ball in row Z but has Hughes got into their heads to try to keep the ball in our possession at all times, then losing out to the lad Orsi, Oyegoke trying to win the ball back with a poor challenge and another yellow.

Never a truer word spoken. This is League Two............... if in doubt stick it in row Z. It's probably the first line in Neil Warnock's coaching book and it serves him well enough.
