This is when Stevenage look like an incredibly average L1 side. When they can play on their terms and their speed at 0-0 or 1-0 up they can play their way..... useless when chasing though because they have players who can frustrate, they dont create too much.

 

They will probably need some set pieces to get back into the game

 

I don’t understand Stevenage. Wootton has been impressive at CB but come on. He’s a striker by trade, at the wrong end of the pitch. Why wouldn’t you target him? Get a runner at him or stick the forward on him

As soon as they go behind you just see how average they are. When drawing or behind they're awkward and difficult as you're forcing the game but get in front and there's no pressure to score more and Stevenage just don't have anything to offer.

 

They are playing like they did in the first half against us at Edgeley Park.

 

Yep, we were very lucky that they were toothless that day and then we managed to adapt second half. But still the best I've seen anyone play against us all season.

 

Yes they can only play one way. Im convinced that had we scored that early chance against them when Bobby got injured, we would have won that game at a canter.

 

Stevenage have only scored more than 2 in 3 league matches this season - first match, away at Blackpool, away to Orient and ironically, away to Stockport.

Pergianni as proved at VP is poor when it hasn’t got snow on it. Not a jot of Stevenage time wasting in sight…No idea why. They are as poor as they were at VP . They just got lucky on the day imho.
