I thought I was being really not very optimistic with our results but I had the following:

Lincoln
Cardiff
Bolton
Us
Stockport
Plymouth

Fingers crossed

 

Yes - I’ve plotted it a few times ! My simple conclusion - don’t lose to Plymouth!

 

Stevenage and Plymouth alreafy winning

 

Add Stockport to that too

 

Last 10 minutes have been the worst ten minutes of our season so far. Horrendous afternoon.

 

Stevenage doesn't matter that much.
Huddersfield can't catch us
Luton losing 2-0 and if that stays the same then they can't catch us..
All down to Plymouth now on tuesday..

 

Watching the Dons v Plymouth game and starting to feel really scared for Tuesday night.

 

We're going to blow it. The writing is on the wall now. It just feels like it's slipping and we're going to need to win one of our games next week. First time this season where I've felt like it's not going to happen.

 

Lincoln just equalised against Stevenage. Massive goal that, 4pt cushion from them.

Plymouth winning made me nervous but a bit better now.

 

Exeter just equalises deep into it against Stockport. At least it keeps them closer to us aswell. Back up to 4th.

 

Results have in the main gone well. Just wished we had finished the job

Am I right in thinking as Luton didn’t win, if we beat Plymouth on Tuesday we are in play-offs?

 

Last season after 12:30 games like the Swindon and Doncaster games I'd go out for a long walk get back, play bit of FIFA and forget about football until 5pm and hope results went our way and it tended to do. Tried that again today and it looks like it worked.
A win on Tuesday night mathematically seals it whatever the other teams do. Win the next 2 games and it is very likely a top 4 position is secured.

What the results also mean is that unless Exeter lose next week with a win for Wimbledon plus draws for Orient, Burton and Peterborough that the last game will be Exeter playing for safety.

 

Win on Tuesday and it’s all over we’ve qualified but it’s a tall order with a Plymouth team going like a runaway train. I still think it goes to Exeter game and not confident at all about that one. On a brighter note beat Plymouth and Bolton at home we are guaranteed a 3rd or 4th finish and a home tie in 2nd leg.

 

Two points from the next two games should be enough

 

We would be home and dry now. We just love doing things the hard way.

 

I know that Plymouth are motoring but they have to beat us and win another game that we lose to overtake to reach the same points as us. And that's disregarding whatever Stevenage and Stockport manage who both have fewer points than us right now.

There are a lot of ifs and buts there. Feels like it's much more likely that Stevenage get ousted from the playoffs than us - the late Lincoln goal will be a right kick in the nuts for them.

I get that everyone is disappointed with today. We totally f-ed up a perfect opportunity but the team and supporters need to move on. We're still 4th and one win away than sealing a place in the league playoffs, something i would never have contemplated us achieving in August.

 

A win seals it. A draw with Luton failing to win means we could only miss out by goal difference. A loss and we would need a maximum of 4 points from the last 2.
