I do have a feeling watching it that Luton really have some momentum behind them. They've got some nice games on paper starting with Northampton on Wednesday, if they can win the next 4 it could set up a huge last day game against Bolton. I just feel it might be a little too late for them and anything other than 5 wins from 5 will be enough.

That would take them to 76 points which is more than any of the other chasing pack can achieve from their remaining games. Do that and then they just have to hope either us, Bolton, Stockport or Stevenage completely capitulate. A tall order yes, but not completely out of the question.

I think we need another 5 points from our remaining 4 matches. That should be achieved but we have 2 difficult home games and we know what we’re like away. Going to be a tense finish especially if Luton carry on winning.

I think we probably are already in the top 6, might just need a point or two.

The most Plymouth can finish on right now is 75 points, Huddersfield 74 points, Reading 71 points and Luton can finish on 76. But these teams all winning out is highly unlikely, a lot of those sides haven't won 3 on the spin all season or at least in a while. Also, teams like Luton are playing twice a week for the rest of the season now, having to paly every 3 or 4 days might be a nightmare fitness wise come the play offs. I'd be amazed if any of that pack finish on more than 72 points come 5pm on May 2nd.

Could do with Stevenage beating Bolton on Tuesday and possibly Stockport winning. If that happens it moves the gap from 6th to 7th to 7 points with 3/4 games to play. Mentally that will finish alot of teams behind us. As for the play offs, finishing 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th doesn't really matter much. What we want to avoid is a team roaring into the play offs on a massive run, and as it stands the 4 play off sides are all limping along, us included and we can all beat each other I would have thought, so it's just a lottery. As said above you don't want a Luton getting in on the back of 4 straight wins and a cup win.

That's an interesting perspective, my instincts were to want Bolton to beat Stevenage to derail their play off push as I'm convinced Bolton will make it and as you say finishing 3rd or 6th doesn't really matter. The point around demoralising the rest of the chasing pack though is well made and if I'm honest I'm not sure I'd fancy us against a Luton or similar over 2 legs. So now I have a dilemma whether to support Bolton or Stevenage or maybe a draw would be a good compromise!!!!

I really can't see them overturning a 6 point deficit from Stevenage much as they are hitting form, so are Stevenage

I certainly agree it's a big ask for Luton to get it as it probably needs 5 wins from 5, possibly 4 wins and a draw might be enough on 74 points with their goal difference but they do have fixtures on paper that are kind.
The Bolton v Stevenage game tomorrow night is huge for both. If Bolton win that will be them safe and gives Luton a chance to close the gap on Stevenage to 3 points and a better goal difference by at least 4. If Stevenage win that should be them nearly in the play offs and Bolton will be looking over their shoulder especially as Luton would be 9 behind with 2 in hand and Bolton still to play last day.
For me if Stevenage get 2 or 3 points from Bolton (A) and Lincoln (H) that will be them nearly there as they've got 3 good games after where they should pick up at least 4 points.

Fixtures on paper don't really mean much, Stevenage had won one from ten away before they played us.

I just really hope we don't limp into the playoffs by the skin of our teeth. Start on Saturday with a win at Barnsley then the pressure is relieved massively. My hope is that we can seal it in the next 2 games then for Bolton and Exeter we can start playoff preparation.

But let's be honest we never do anything the easy way so this probably won't happen :D

Yeah i hope we get it done soon. I can see us struggling at Barnsley and then giving Bolton a good leathering, dunno why but this team have it in them. I remember typing at the start of the season that we'll get thumped by Donny and then leather Huddersfield and Cardiff (or on those lines) and it was bob on.

I think we'll at least get 4 more points, I can 100% see us losing the final game at Exeter, especially if they need a win to stay up and we rest a few folk knowing we'll be 4th or 5th anyway.

I hope Luton drop off because they are the team I feel have momentum but also the quality in their squad to win the playoffs.
They are also fresh from a Wembley win so will be favourites in the final like we were against Northampton in 2013.

For selfish reasons I hope we end up 3rd or even 6th as the both of the semi final dates for 4th and 5th clash with other plans and it'll give me a dilemma / conflicts!

Two big matches tonight in Bolton vs Stevenage and Huddersfield vs Cardiff. If we see a Cardiff win tonight, that would pretty much all but end Huddersfields chances of a play off finish, as the most points they could end on would be 71 and you'd think Stockport and Stevenage would be able to get 5 more points each from their remaining 5 (STE) and 6 (STO) games each? Anything other than a Bolton win is a nightmare for the chasing pack at this point.

A Stevenage win tonight might well pretty much seal those play off 4 places as the chasing pack would pretty much need to win out and one of the 4 current sides would pretty much have to near enough lose the rest to drop out.

There's Stockport tomorrow, too, was a bit confused when I saw they weren't playing tonight - would have been cutting it fine!

It's going to be an interesting night tonight, I'm quite looking forward to it.
We might also see Rotherham being the first team to have their relegation confirmed tonight if they lose to Wigan, even though they're third from bottom.

Yes, it’s so much less stressful when City aren’t playing, might actually enjoy the football tonight
