I've got us finishing 5th on 74 points. I've gone for 2 more wins which are Northampton and Stevenage, 3 draws to Barnsley then home to Plymouth and Bolton and away defeats at Wycombe and Exeter.

I just cant see the chasing pack getting enough as they are all playing each other, i have Plymouth getting the most wins of all teams involved with 4 wins from 7. I have Bolton 3rd on 77, Stockport 4th on 76, us 5th on 74 and Plymouth in 6th on 73 points. With Wycombe finishing 7th on 70, Stevenage 8th on 70 too but they have a poor GD compared. Reading 9th on 69 and Huddersfield 10th on 68. It's tough seeing any team suddenly pull away with some wins, because all are on ropey form apart from Plymouth. Us, Bolton and Stockport all have 2 wins in 6, Wycombe have lost 3 in their last 5, Stevenage and Reading lost 2 in their last 5, Huddersfield just 1 win in their last 5. Seems like everyone is feeling the pinch.

 

Odd that some scoffed when it was noted that Barnsley haven’t a pot to pizz in . They made a substantial amount of money through transfer sales this last 18 months and not a penny seems to have been invested in the squad ? Last time I looked they lost £8m in one season . Wage costs in 24/25 indicated to be £12million of which there are still o/s payments on previous deals ?

 

We are 5 points clear of Stevenage in 7th, however, Stevenage have a game in hand. We really need to be beating them in 2 weeks time

 

Those fixtures aren’t correct,they were put by someone on Twitter. Stevenage and Wycombe are particularly wrong. For instance Stevenage are at Rotherham on Friday not Lincoln.

 

Good spot! I still reckon those points will be about right, none of these teams have been able to build wins lately, would be amazing for any of them to get say 4/5 wins in 6/7 games.

 

You know what at least it gonna be exciting rather than being stuck in midtable with fook all to play for which we have had over the last 8 years or so apart from 2 occasions
Looking forward to Friday a big game and thats what we all want dont we rather than adead rubber event ...........wvery game from now till the end of the season is important so lets just ( try to ) enjoy it

 

Need to think above and beyond 3pts and also think about the performance/momentum taking us into the final stretch and the play offs. No good us limping into the play offs to be eliminated early because weve continued to play shite. We will get found out very early.

 

I'd already concluded they are getting that 6th spot based on the current league standings.

 

One team will come flying at the end they always do and its normally over the easter weekend that it starts ............any team pulling in 6 pounts will take a huge step either cementing there place in the play offs or getting there .......... just hope it aint our lovely neighbours would take them losing to Reading on Friday to widen the gap further

 

I can see it being Plymouth just due to the fixtures the rest have. It would be mental for some of these teams to find form now, not a lot have strung 3 wins together since the start of the season. Wycombe did in Jan but then have lost 3 in 5 since, Huddersfield similar. Stevenage last did it in Sept, same with Stockport. Bolton won 3 in a row in Jan and have had plenty of draws since then they lose to Vale last time out. Reading haven't won 3 in a row all season.

Just looking at all teams form over the last few months, there isn't really one that look good for a run, would be pretty against trend for any of them to go on a run really. All have wobbled against relegation sides, all have iffy away form, all have at least a game or two against each other. I cant see any of them winning more than 3 or 4 really unless something magically clicks with a team at the end.

Doing mine, Plymouth finish 6th on 71, Wycombe just miss out by a point. Bolton vs Plymouth and Stockport vs City for the play offs.

 

Reading are a bigger threat to our play off spot than Town so im taking a Town win in that one.

 

Ideally we want Stockport in the play offs. We have the mental edge over them if anything else. Finishing 4th would possibly be better than 3rd in all honesty. That 6th place team will be a form team.

 

Yeah think i'd prefer Stockport over the rest. Looks like they've played teams who were in the top 6 at kick off on 9 occasions so far this season (excluding opening day when technically Bolton were top 6 by alphabet) and have 2 wins and 5 losses in those 9, not the best record against other good teams, including two defeats to us.

 

Not necessarily. It might be a team that fall off at the end and hang on by the skin of their teeth. I've never understood why people always have the 6th placed team pegged as 'a form side'.

That's the whole point you can't be thinking beyond the next game and getting 3 points, even Alexander quotes that after every game. Before we start gettng ahead of ourselves we need to win. As I said win by a few goals and it's a bonus. How have we played sh1t yet were in 4th place and never been outside the top 7 all season.
