the gaps in Patrick's game are a bloody cavern.

if it was possible to "add a footballing brain" or "fill in gaps in his game" we'd all be professional footballers.

we're not, because fundamentally we're shite at football - same as Patrick. he's only a pro because Edin Rahic is one of the stupidest people in the world.

 

The probLem with Scannell apart from poor fitness is I bet he puts the timber on when not active.

Let's see what he's like. I am sure that if he appears on the bench, then it means he's shown something in training and DH thinks he's worthy of a spot.
Can't compare him to Kai - two completely different players, other than that they are both raw, relatively untried, and both were championed by Edin. In fairness, we were all creaming ourselves when he scored that long range shot, but after that, the cream turned to cringe. He did look like he'd won a competition to "be a footballer for a day".
Hopefully his time at Yeovil has given him some insight and further reading of the game, and we can benefit from his loan spell - because at the end of the day, that's why we sent him out on loan.

 

A few years back, didn't we have a similar situation with a youngster who came on against Wrexham and equalised with a worldy from the left. Don't think we saw any more goals. I'm sure someone here will remember his name.

 

Well, in all fairness, give him a couple of weeks and he may pick up. There's several others in the squad that have seemed worse than average at the start of the season but got better after a few weeks with Hopkin.

Possibly was. There's been loads down the line - remember Danny Forrests overhead kick? Remember looking at all the goals Ross Hannah scored on Youtube. Remember Isiah Rankin, er....umm, signing? Dave Syers scored some crackers and look at him now. Same with that left back who we recently had, and I've forgotten his name. Black fella. Scored a cracker live on Sky - deft chip after a decent run. Formerly on Man Citys books. Suprised we released him.
DH is no mug. I think he'll see straight away if Patrick has potential or not. You'd also like to think there has been regular scout reports coming back from Yeovil.
