    To be fair, there wasn't a thread about Oliver and his potential lol a mod decided to make one - I think the discussion was in the pre season thread and the comment was 'not totally written off'

    I think without that knowledge the idea of promoting Oliver is a bit rich, but with context this wasn't the intention at all!

    His record in those 2 seasons for Gills was okay. Nothing to shout about....he dropped to L2 remember?

    Park…..he has failed under Hughes and Alexander at City.

    He has failed under Evan’s at Stevenage.

    That is a fact.

    He had 14 appearances at Stevenage this year, yet scored ZERO goals.

    He is supposed to be a striker.

    Strikers should score goals.

    He has failed to do so in the last two seasons.

    In October he will be 33, well into the twilight of his career.

    Why on earth do you think based on current information, that he is going to have a resurgence in his ability to score?

    Fair point Jon, ok let me put it this way - if Oliver hadnt scored a rare goal yesterday (as I already stated in a friendly against limited opposition) would anyone on here have wanted to seriously discuss his goalscoring potential (obviously apart from you know who!)
    As City fans we continue to feed off the scraps we are thrown instead of continuing to push the club to deliver on their promises of better times ahead

    I am not saying necessarily that we should keep Oliver but I believe if he stays he has the ability to contribute.

    Until he signed on loan for Stevenage he hasn’t had a run in the team and even then he was mainly off the Bench. As I posted above I won’t lose any sleep if he moves I just think if he doesn’t move on he could contribute as a squad player his stint at Gillingham shows that

    The problem with Oliver is he is shit, and us fans have been served shit for a long time, with that it seems some fans actually enjoy the taste of shit and look forward to their next meal.

    Players like Oliver, eating away at a decent salary will not get us promoted.

    But as long as we have a club to support eh?

    Things that get better with age are rare. Liz Hurley and J’Lo are exceptions to the norm, but ‘big V’ is not.

    We’ll do well to move him on due to the daft contract we handed out. It just hasn’t worked out for him here and the lack of goals at Stevenage was a real concern. He’ll do well to talk himself into a L1 loan again. Who can afford him in L2?

    his best hope of a perm move is a promotion chasing Conference club with cash to burn, or abroad!

    Forest Green were throwing daft money around over the last month or so, signing players from L1 to drop down and try bounce back up. Looks like they only have 2 forwards on their books at the minute, one being Christian Doidge who started last season at Hibs infront of over 17,500 fans and will start this season away to Aldershot.

    But.... does anyone know if Vadaine is willing to eat Quorn?
