Oliver's Future?

If you are talking about Cook, then shake your head. He's scored not far short of a goal every other game for us. Of those that have played 100 plus games I bet there's only Sean McCarthy who comes near.

Wise decision as he hasn’t been good anywhere enough this season since coming back from injury. We will hopefully find a better replacement plenty available.

 

He might well be but I don't fancy him winning many high balls. Cook's only about 6ft but he's strong and can't half jump. Better in the air than Oliver when I've seen them this season and he's defo smaller than Oliver. Anyway, what I'm saying is that we need another Cook-type striker to back him up whether that's Stockton/Wyke or A.N. Other

 

Here's another stat: 109 league games played for us with 51 goals and 15 assists.

Whilst still managing to score a goal every 95 minutes he plays, which is pretty damn good for "pub footballer" masquerading as a professional.

Andy Cook could sit out 89 minutes of match having a fag and a kebab and he's still be the first name on most peoples team sheet.

Oliver good enough for a L1 team, just pretty useless for our sustainable L2 club.

Well it's true.

There is literally nobody in the building that can come on for Cook at the minute.

Of course, we're bound to sign someone, but it's still true.

 

It’s a good move, IF we start playing Young or bring someone else in. The bench doesn’t look so promising with Derbyshire and Tulloch (is he still here?) as impact subs. If anything, it’ll give the oppo confidence when they come on at the 70 min mark!

Totally agree. I mean this is a good deal for all parties (if all/a sizeable amount of Oliver’s wages are covered) but leaves our current front line looking terrifying…….in a bad way especially with Walker and Pattison still out.

Surely a replacement for Oliver is lined up.

 

Good move for both parties. Never got a foothold at City. Seemed to be a decent signing at first. I can see him helping them climb the league as long as he isn't injured much.

 

So if he has a 15% success rate then our midfield has created 340 chances for him.
