Not a matter of liking them is it? It’s whether or not they score goals. And the 4/5 we have don’t score enough. Nobody expects four 20 goal a season strikers in the squad, but four who will struggle to score 20 between them isn’t good enough. Quality over quantity has to be case when you’re on a limited budget. And before any smart arses say you can’t expect quality in league two, someone who is good enough to score 15-20 in league two.

The solution then is to do a proper job of identifying and signing the right players and building a team and playing to a system that suits their strengths. Not to panic sign a bench warmer from the league’s bottom club, not to sign a kid you’d presumably never heard of until you saw him score against you, not to release your better players before signing an adequate replacement.

 

Oh right, I thought it was a thread about not planning to have adequate cover for injuries etc.
