Novak injured Guthrie injured what do now?

I don't know why anyone else hasn't thought of it before. Measure the team and stick the biggest lad up front then watch the goal fest ensue.

At the moment we have:
Clarke - more of a midfielder
Donaldson - probably past his best, offside a lot, will get injured
Guthrie - doesn’t look interested or likely to score and injured
Novak - injured
Samuels - who knows?

I don’t care how many strikers we have but after 12 league and cup games that lot have seven, including a penalty, combined. Average that out over a league season and together they won’t hit thirty between them. That’s the same sort of performance from the strikers that got us relegated from League 1 and in that season AOC, Payne and O’Brien chipped in with 20 between them.

So to answer your question, I think those five together will get the goals two better players should get between. One striker who will get 15 goals in the rest of the league season is needed.

 

Hasn't got a clue or lazy? He's re-signed 3 that were here last season, a mate that was here last time he was, a player he had the first time he managed us (that he thought was still playing as a forward), and a player he had at Scunthorpe. Even the loans look lazy, one signed after scoring against us in the cup and the other from that club just down the road. The only one that he seems to have done any homework on is Watt.

 

Guthrie is completely useless I’d rather give a hungry youth team striker a couple of games.

 

You need to look at his recruitment the last time he was here, that is not resigning but the players he brought in that were new to the club, recruitment first go round, at Scunthorpe and at Motherwell. Overall I think you will find it is generally poor quality.

He is not a re-builder. He is not a diamond in the rough talent spotter.

 

Like many others I can't answer that one with any conviction
I suspect he is working to a very tight budget that hasn't been made public the clubs ethos is to "balance the books" regardless of what league or position we are in without dropping any further, it's been said many times that this season is all about treading water. Whether given a large for L2 budget Stuart has the nous to spend it wisely to progress the club is a mute point I don't think he is lazy just hands so firmly tied there is not much more he can do within his capabilities

Who do we have in the youth team? Looking at the team list, we've brought quite a few into the first team. Strange that there's no strikers brought forward.
On that note, regarding the youth team, I liked the look of Sikora. I think I'd actually prefer him to BRE - unless BRE is in the team now because he's useful up front.
