I think Stubbs might’ve played his last, or one of his last games there? Christ - as good as Stubbs could be at times, the thought of them two at the back together…..
You could pick any two average blokes from the pre match pubs on North Parade and they’d be no slower

Stubbs was far worse than Taylor that day, and Taylor looked like a pub player.

I remember watching it at the in-laws and when the lineup was out I said to the father in-law that this could be a nightmare. Stubbs and Taylor against a possesion based side with Crowley on form in the 10 slot, it was a massacre that first half. Dog rough!

It was very little different to reading this forum,, however it does seem like Stallard is a travelling county fan and reporter . He seemed to say it as it is, along with the podcast chair. Not happy bunnies. You watch they will change tactic by lumping it , although from memory Stallard said they haven’t much hope of going long because they can’t pass beyond 10 yds I think he said. I kid you not! I can see this all going Pete Tong now! ;)

Their 3rd goal (Langstaff) sums us up on that day perfectly.
Easy, unchallenged through ball from midfield and Taylor basically holds his hands up surrender style while Langstaff runs straight past him and shoots
    beyond Lewis.

Easily the worst 45 minutes defensively for a long time.

I'm sure you'll be there to witness it either way Steve, I said after another Morecambe debacle I'd finished with away days and was going to the zoo instead ;).

Good shout but was trying to think of an away fixture worse ? Recall a Xmas game once away to Huddersfield . I think we scored first then they got 5 ! Got home to “ The Party” to the biggest ever piss take on record ! I wonder if Cess scored , maybe that’s me dreaming ?

Yup it was Boxing Day I think and yes Ces scored. I remember it because I seem to think it was the first time all season I'd drawn Bobby for first scorer in our pre-match pub draw......and then Ces scored. Although I have to say I'm now wondering if Bobby was still there at that time.....
    ...what day is it?

Was that the game when Joe Cooke actually got bullied by a centre half, the CB in question being Steve Baines.

No I'm wrong, the game I remember was 3 nil defeat. Steve Baines later joined us for £18,000, back in the days when fees were made public.

There were a couple of hammerings at Huddersfield in the 80s . I remember the one where Ces scored but I think we lost 6-3, then there was another just before Trevor Cherry got sacked, might have been 5-2 that one.
