Turned off after 2-0. Smallwood and Sarcevic were all over the place - couldn’t watch anymore and needed to pack for Christmas back to Blighty.

Can anyone provide a quick analysis of the performance?

 

Kav had one in the first half about a yard wide of the keepers left post. He was buzzing about on his own with Bobby , but that was it up front.

 

Started just about ok without creating a meaningful chance.
5 minutes of abject surrender where every city player forgot how to tackle or defend and they just run through us at will.

2nd half still didn’t create any real chances apart from a Kav shot at the keeper and a back pass shot to their keeper.
Just kept launching in to box for their keeper to practice catching.

GA thought we were ok apart from the 5 minutes of madness.

We really weren’t.

All that possession we had, and the stats seemed to bear it out , was pointless if we do nothing with crosses. A

Our 3-0 defensive display was on a par with NC’s display at Barrow 7 days ago. An absolute comedy of errors and missed placed passes. This league is garbage and being realistic the easiest chance to get out of it, we won’t playing like that. Midfield and an all over lack of pace crucifies us.

 

Good defending that-5 men back and not one anywhere near their player.

 

I'd say this post is blaming the fans "Honestly, anyone who rocks up at VP on Boxing Day needs their head read!!" how else could it be interpreted ?.

But that's all we keep hearing but fail to accept it my end up with us losing our league status and ultimately our club, are you happy to risk that because we both know Rupp wants his pound of flesh and hasn't the balls to think of what's the consequences are, he can talk all he likes and make statements there are very few support him but I do think we know to accept what might happen, and I for one am not prepared to risk it.

I'm going to say the same thing i said/asked all pre-season.

Does Alexander have a pattern of play that creates chances and gives us the chance of scoring goals?

On the evidence of the first half of the season i say "no".

Blame whoever you want but the manager has to be able to set out a formation and coach the players to be able to play in a way to create chances. Goals won't always come, players will miss chances and make mistakes (especially in league two) but the manager has to be able to set up the team to play the way he wants.

Formation has changed frequently, even accounting for injuries, players have changed frequently, some are dropped for a very small period of poor form, others stay in the team despite poor form. I don't know what Alexander's pattern of play is and he's been with us a year. What I do know is the way he has set us up to play has not been good enough. I can't think of many games when we've been unlucky, when weve played well and wasted chances or an error led to an undeserved equaliser against us. Most times we've lost or drawn because of our own poor performances - like today.

 

Dave what is it we are "supporting" right now? I would say our history and nothing more. This shower of shit are not worth our time.
