It clearly wasn't if we'd been as clinical with our chances as Notts County were with theirs.

Stubbs, Taylor and Richards were shocking and must be dropped. Get Platt and Tomkinson in at CH. Halliday showed character and was excellent second half.

Off topic Jake Young just scored a 25 yard curler. I wish we had a goal scorer like that!!

Some of our closed season transfer business has been poor to say the least.

Our defence in that first half was a shambles and Taylor takes alot of pelters from many city fans(Including myself) but in the last 4 or 5 games Stubbs has also been awful and today he was no exception.

Cook equalises with that early chance and suddenly the games different.

I'd be OK if this was an isolated incident. Let's be honest he's missed good chances against Stockport and Wrexham as well. He also could have made the Swindon win, far more comfortable.

But it's his body language that irks me the most. But I hate poor body language. He reminds me back in the day, when I was talking to my then teenage daughter :) (she's grown up into a fine individual so maybe Cook will come back the same)

Keep scoring Jake. Then some daft L1 team will come in for you in January and pay a fat fee :p

We need him to keep scoring and hope we can get some decent money for him in January.
Then at least GA will have half a chance.

We seemed to have gone from one extreme to another, from constant passing around the back with Hughes to frequently turning the ball over under Alexander. It will take time but somewhere between the two needs to be the aim.

A stat was flashed on screen early doors in that we made 32 successful passes in 23 mins, I mean, I'm no keep ball fan but even I can see those types of figures are unsustainable and little wonder we were all over the place.

I've been upset many times in the past mostly in my younger days when we come off a poor result like today, and hear the comments so and so should have had a bag full unfortunately today Andy Cook should.

What would your body language be if you were being forced to play despite not being fully fit!

If GA Picks Taylor again, that's a sackable offense in its self

Stubbs needs a better partner and I'm not throwing Richards out based on his first match in ages. For some reason Tomkinson hasn't been picked by any of our managers - but yes, get Platt back in as he and Stubbs rarely had poor matches.

Let's also remember that for the first half, due to the simplistic nature that the 4-4-2 wide delivers, our midfield two was utterly swamped because they had around seven ball playing defenders and midfielders against our two (by this time the our front four are hopelessly out of position.

Any defence, is going to creek under that. For instance Halliday was just as much at fault for the third goal as Richards and Stubbs were for the first. My point is, that it wasn't just the fault of the back four.

It was worryingly naive of Alexander to play that system against the divisions number one ball playing through midfield team.

Better than that. I can't remember who said it, but it was largely if you can only play well when 100% fit - then you're going to have a disappointing career.

Far too many excuses are now been made for Cook. Christ!! I'm someone who defends players - but not Cook who's fluffed his lines in four key games this season. With that terrible body language to go with them!!

Taylor is the easy target but Stubbs has arguably been just as bad if not worse at times this season.

Funny I thought that one was his most difficult chance in the game, he did very well to turn the defender and get his shot off, I can't defend Cooks misses today but will say as bad as his misses were he was in positions to miss them (I know that my sound daft) but that is what goal scorers do, at the moment I can't see Alexander has a choice but to continue playing Cook and hoping that first goal gets him scoring again, I'm watching the Accrington/Wrexham game and Stanley certainly wont be a push over next Saturday.

Perhaps. But I remember writing off Canavan after a bad spell and been fine with him leaving. Yet he's now the head of one of the best defences in the division.

When he came in last season, we hardly conceded, so he's got credit in the bank.

In some ways his errors, mirrors Cook's at the other end, but there's been more from Cook and for longer.

Let's get Subbs / Platt back with Halliday and give Richards a run (or bring back Ridehalgh) and get some stability back in the defence first.
