Those were my first boots. Made even heavier with copious amounts of dubbin.

 

Loved that Kop. No better sight than to see it packed and surging as we scored a goal at that end.

Now that was "limbs" as the kids like to say.

Louis Bookman goalkeeper of Bradford City pre World War I. Interestingly as an international player for Ireland he played outside left and was in their Home International Championship winning team of 1914.
Also, as far as I know, he is the only player to have played every game for his country without using his real surname which was Buckhalter

That’s deffo not VP though. I wonder he changed his name because it sounds somewhat Germanic?
