I don’t think the criticism is of Clarke personally, rather the club in having to go backwards for a third time when we really should be looking for the new Clarke. Again this is a result of a poor recruitment strategy.

Agree with you totally on 2nd point Park but I am yet to be convinced your 1st point is as safe as you make out - will feel more confident when Ryan actually confirms an appointment of the recruitment manager and we 'hit the ground running' in January as previously promised

He's a good player, okay you'd like better players, so would I but to keep saying he's a poor player is not only wrong it's childish Fordy.
    You're better than that.
Oh and bye the way in case I forget Merry Christmas mate.

Noticed in past couple of matches he is looking to block and intercept more than diving in for the tackle - credit to him for adjusting because a good Sutton on the pitch makes us a better team

Clarke’s a decent enough player at this level. He can play in a couple of positions and he is capable of moments of quality. He certainly adds more than the likes of Donaldson, Guthrie or DMH. We need to add more quality in attacking and wide areas though. Hopefully Evans starts to find fitness and form - that’d almost be like a new signing, because he’s featured so little. Ismail’s career looks done. Both in terms of quality and numbers, we need 2-3 attacking players in Jan.

Wrt Sutton. When Cooke had his shot blocked by the keeper, Grimsby player broke down field in a hurry. A City player chased him down and made a perfectly timed slide in tackle to put the ball out for a throw. Was that Sutton? (It's the very last few seconds of the Sky video highlights).
Whoever it was, it was a different thing to what we have seen where players run unchallenged at a back pedalling defence .

Looking at Hursts managerial career, then he always seems to have Chris Doig as his assistant https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Doig
Not sure if that is essential or preferential.
I guess many of us would like the club to consider a potential Hurst-Trueman-Sellars management team.
    However would Hurst buy this?
Would Trueman/Sellars go along with it?

Why only until the summer? Doesn't that go against everything the club are supposedly trying to do by building some stability and continuity? If the club think Trueman and Sellars are good enough to offer a contract they should be good enough to offer a long term deal. If that isn't certain (which I don't think it is), then they shouldn't be given the job. We are heading into this transfer window with no permanent manager in place, the last thing we need is to be giving out a short term contract to T&S so that we find ourselves in exactly the same position again in the summer.

I think it was me Bronco and my point was every other pass he played up to that point went to a Grimsby player. He got himself into good positions and squandered the ball far too often

It's the problem with Fordy. He was even negative when Parkinson was progressing us up the leagues and creating history. Every time there was a blip he wanted him fired.

He hides it behind 'always wanting more' but it reality its just a way to get a reaction.

Aaron! I'm surprised it's taken you so long to work Fordy out mate. When I did my apprenticeship I worked alongside and was trained by Fordy wannabes. He's very good it, you've got to admit that.

I think he's still the best of our midfield group, we are seeing better from Watt, Sutton, Pritchard, Cooke, bit early to judge Evans but without doubt our midfield are performing better, big challenge on Boxing day at Tranmere, I actually have us down for a close run game but a defeat, and that's not like old happy clapper, I do hope the lads prove me wrong.

I think that was Clarke because even though I rate him as you all know by now I remember being quite surprised. It may have been Sutton though.
I remember it was by the touchline and I was a bit surprised a modern day referee didn't class it as a tackle from behind.

I worked him out back in the C&B days but think I've managed to blank him out over time :joy:

He's certainly made a niche for himself. I'll give him that. Whether it's something to be proud of I'm not so sure!

That probably means that if the new manager does play him you will be questioning his judgement from the word go. What with being more knowledgeable.

Have we had a cup run to boost those stats?

You do realise that we've only won about 4 games all season? If we went through the team the winning percentages with and without any player you care to mention are going to be poor.
