I just can't see the "recruitment help" going ahead until the new manager confirms it. Stuart pretty much needed it, and agreed to it. But will the new guy? Imagine you get given a new job, and on your first day, you get introduced to the guy that's going to be helping you out, because "the guy you replaced couldn't hack it". Not sure you'd be too happy about that.
Sparks needs to address all this in the interview. I wouldn't be suprised if the new manager comes with his own ideas and staff, and doesn't need anyone to identify transfer targets for him.

Can’t recall, but didn’t listen to the commentary religiously. Maybe they saw the new man but where told in a media briefing beforehand to keep quiet? Who knows, if Hurst was there then it’s a certainty he’s got the job, in the Covid world you can’t just rock up at a game to take a live match in.

 

Yeah, if I'm right, I'd expect Hurst to be unveiled on Monday latest.

Assuming its Hurst - but if not, whoever it is - it’s surely a significant plus that the incoming manager can speak to 2 coaches at the club, who can provide insight into exactly whats worked so well in the last 2 games.

I meant more 'left field' in that I'd be surprised if we took Morecambe's manager rather than appointed a decent manager on a free.

Similarly, I'd be surprised if we paid £50k for a player in January if someone was available for free.
