I can't see why not, if it goes south at Plymouth I think it's a great opportunity to get right back into employment with a club in a similar situation to those he's been at before.

I hate to claim we have more potential than Plymouth, especially with our weird leadership situation, but we would certainly have more of a future than Bury IF we stayed up lol

For what it's worth after doing some twitter and forum digging this morning, 6 months back the Plymouth fans were certain the compo fee was around the high 6 figure mark when Bolton wanted Lowe. Even with 18 month on his deal, it will still be a 6 figure fee most likely.

Depends A) if Rupp wants to part with that cash, and B) if Lowe even fancies a L2 relegation battle.

The recruitment side was rubbish because our manager was shocking in that department.

The new manager might not be.

I also wanted Hurst here about when Grayson went but now not so sure.

Lowe 100% would be my pick.

Rupp won't be parting with any cash. Remember the salary cap money savings now.

We won't go down and any new manager will know that.

With Lowe it will be a question of does he want to come back up north now to a club that's failing but surely can't get any worse. It's a great job to take in my mind.

If you're getting to the answer four, you might be right!!

It worries me though. Let's go and recruit the same recruitment manager and the same first team manager that failed at Scunthorpe.

The majority of clubs at our level fail for one of two reasons - poor recruitment or poor tactics - which tells me at least one of Turnbull and Hurst were not doing their job!

But hey ho, let's not worry about that, sure all will be fine if we just close our eyes and keep our fingers crossed!

Cant see the words "we wont go down" without thinking of Martin Drury.

The wife and kids still live in Liverpool, surely prefer living with them rather than bobbing up and down from his apartment in Plymouth for the next 18 months? Either way, pipe dream until the comp cash is splashed and that wont happen any time soon.

In what role? If we hire a manager and assistant what space is there left for him? Not that he should be getting a look in with his record anyway.

We probably need another coach as well, but who that is should be decided by the new manager surely? And if the new manager hasn't been chosen, why are we *possibly* hiring coaches that they may not get along with?

You can stop that “decent recruitment network and an effective back room staff infrastructure “ talk. We are not made of money!!!

The last permanent manager at Scunthorpe before Hurst was McCall. Yes there was a period in between when Andy Dawson was caretaker, but Hurst effectively took over the reigns from McCall and ended up with an almost identical record - Mccall - P39, W12, D8, L19 win% 30.8, Hurst P38, W12, D10, L16 win% 31.6%. There is a slight worry for me that if Hurst is the new manager, we could end up seeing history repeating itself.
