A DOF with a head coach. Basically what we have now. Hughes runs the football side along with the chief scout.Hughes is purely a looker on in training he just sets the policy. The only things he isn’t responsible for is the budget or appointing his own successor.Another football man above Hughes would be a disaster.

 

Warnock apparently going to announce he’s quitting Town tomorrow,but he certainly won’t be coming to City and there’s no chance Huddersfield would want Hughes.

Yes, he signed an extension in Jan and its up June 2025. If we do sack Hughes and pay him off, i can't see us also going and paying a compensation fee for someone else.

Reckon the biggest noise would be for us going after Darren Moore. Cowley would probably be linked too.

 

Expectations are going to be high whoever was appointed why not somebody ambitious to climb the leagues. It’s about Character and nothing else

 

Not suggesting we are bringing one in or should. But if we decided to hire one, it won't be to work with Hughes, it will be when Hughes is gone.

In an ideal world but it has to be decided before hand who is the boss and I think that could hamper recruiting for the roles, but maybe not if as someone said 75% of our league already work under the system. I just can not see many managers accepting someone else doing the recruiting etc, and if the manager has the final say then what is the role of the DoF except as a sounding board which surely the assistant should already be doing that role.

Steve Evans is a fat no from me (pun intended). Irrespective of the off field issues, he's just another Derek Adams.

Succeeded at small clubs with zero expectation and where he had a blank cheque to sign 20 players every window.

I'd much rather us sign a young coach/manager with a reputation for playing attacking football. And before anyone throws Collins at me, regardless of his own ability he was set up to fail by that made man Rahic.
