Some posters on here were saying Sparks was clueless for appointing Truman and Sellars after they took 34 points from 15 games, choosing Adams who’d just got Morecambe promotion and choosing Hughes who was an experienced Premier league manager. Now people are wanting McDonald after one win. As I’ve said earlier recruitment of a manager is not an exact science,it’s a difficult choice and bringing in a director of football makes it no easier. About 40 managers will be sacked this season and some of those will have an experienced director of football. I don’t envy Sparks as unless the new manager goes on an amazing run he’ll be told he’s useless by some on here.

Aiming just for play offs is a loser mentally.

Well I am making an assumption we don’t train in the river. Flood defences have been built. You don’t hear the players moaning about the facilities or the coaches, just the opposite tbh. Yes we have had numerous injuries over the last few seasons, that maybe down to coaching methods etc., we possibly need an appraisal from the medical team to see if it is related to coaching practices.

I think McDonald's odds can be explained by someone on Twitter lumping £50 on him

Madness that some people are saying to give him the job after one game...hopefully not the same ones that call out Ryan for his appointments...

This sort of article is rubbish IMO Hughes had us in a play off semi final drawing the tie he then made a disastrous call late in the game that cost us the tie I honestly do believe that and posted similar at the time, he knew all he had to do was tweak the squad in what he believed to be our weak positions and go again but no Mark being Mark rips the Blue print up and takes a very different route, sorry Mark Hughes you brought all this on himself.

It even says Rupp took over in 2013, lining up with our resurgence, I don't think there's a source on the internet that would list that by mistake

"Stefan Rupp, the German millionaire who made his money selling helicopter seats and took over in 2013, is largely anonymous and wants the club to be self-sufficient.

But when required to make substantial contributions to keep the club’s finances on track – after a disastrous overspend in 2019 and during the Covid panic – he coughs up."

After the depressing way city have been playing, Saturdays game was a breath of fresh air.
All most folk want is a team that play and put in 100% effort.
It won’t always give us 3 points but it will give us something to cheer and hopefully give us entertainment if it comes off.
If we had lost on Saturday we would feel down but would have pride that the team had given there all.
We don’t need a defensive minded manger

With regard Uncle Derek at the time of us signing Songo he told us it wasn't unusual for Adams to get the players in on a Sunday that might have had an effect of their vulnerability to soft tissue injuries ?.

While we're on about excuses and specifically crowds, can someone please explain to me why 16000 people paying half price (I know it's not quite that extreme) isn't better than 4000 (the majority of the division at the very best) paying full price?

I'm just baffled as to where this reasoning comes from that we desperately need to increase process to compete as it doesn't really make any sense to me.

Yes, what someone says and then does isn't always the same.
For instance, IF McD has a winning run of four games in his caretaker role, performance are impressive, and the crowd increases by 2k . He may well be offered the role until the end of the season.
He may decide to give it a crack, he clearly wants to go eventually into management.
And its not everyday you get a lower league club of City's stature to cut your teeth with.

Whatever happens it’s good experience for when his playing career is over. The only thing is he doesn’t want to combine it with playing which robs us of a player

Their underlying idea is that we're a small club, and they are part of the exclusive 'proper' fans, and everyone else is getting a season ticket because it's cheap.

So, if the prices were raised to the point that we only sell 4000, those 4000 will be the 'proper' fans.

Then as soon as all the 13000 surplus 'toxic' fans have left, we'll get promoted and climb the pyramid. Ownership, recruitment, management etc wouldn't matter (why complain and not just get behind the lads ffs). We would simply clap the players to promotion.

Size of crowd (however much they are paying) is a big factor at all levels of football.
I’m no footballer psychology expert but I know what size of crowd I’d rather play in.
And I’m fairly sure most (if not all) footballers would rather play in front of 17,000 of their own fans rather than 2,000.
We’ve seen players from other clubs come and take selfies at VP because they realise what a great ground it is to play in.
Sure, some might raise their game but Saturday proved that if the players give the crowd something to get behind VP can be a very loud and intimidating place for the opposition.
To suggest that our cheap crowds intimidate our players is nonsense imo.
Once again something that every other club would give their right arm for is used as a negative where we are concerned.

I honestly believe his future doesn’t lie in
“playing” Dennis. He will surely realise that, knowing he cannot train full time nor play beyond 65 minutes every other game. Why do I say that ….? He didn’t pick himself last weekend. ( I do realise he would have had to sustain a busy week leading up to the game) . The cards are on the table . Would he pass up the opportunity at this stage? No imho.
