Neil Warnock has massive experience of managing lower league teams and with most of them he gained promotions.
Yes it was 20 years ago and since then he has operated in the top 2 divisions.
Maybe you are suggesting though that league 2 football is very much different to when Warnock managed in it? I don’t think so.
Maybe fitness levels and playing surfaces are better but the standard of players are the same as they were.

I may well be wrong, but l think it was 1996 (27 years ago when he last achieved promotion for a club in the lower tiers). That was Plymouth who subsequently sacked him as they were in danger of relegation the following season. He then failed at Oldham. The players who were playing at the end of the 1990’s have all retired. He would be new to the current situation. Hughes has now had 18 months to familiarise himself with League 2.
I just don’t see Warnock as the panacea for our current sluggish start. If Hughes has to go, better to look towards someone fresh.

For the record I don’t think Warnock is the answer either. He’s too old

There's always one though isn't there? Evans or Adams or Warnock or Mullen? If we just had one of them we'd be championship by 25.

Get him gone. But I'm also alive to the fact that nothing is likely to change if Sparks is picking the next manager.

Obviously the way we have performed with regards Ryan managerial appointments your comment is valid, but there weren't many critics at the time of their appointment as most saw they had got teams promoted in the past under similar circumstances at their previous clubs.

Because he’s a shire CEO. Far too inexperienced and with an owner that doesn’t care about the club and football it really isn’t a good mix.

It clearly isn’t working is it unless you like Div 2 football.

If you really think Sparks and Rupp are a good fit for the club then I have question you as a supporter that wants the best for Bradford City.

I don't know Park. Maybe because he hasn't made a single correct footballing decision in his time as CEO.

And Hughes has how much experience outside of the PL ! At least Warnock has passion.

Should Hughes eventually go this season, I hope he's replaced by someone who has a blueprint of playing attacking football. Not necessarily route one one, but attractive football based on scoring more than one goal a game.

There isn’t a team in this league who wouldn’t have appointed Hughes when we did. And if there had been a poll on here at the time if it was the right decision there would be an overwhelming majority in favour. It’s very easy to criticise in hindsight

And there probably isn't a bloke on here between 40 & 60 who would have turned down Julia Roberts if one of her e-mails got stuck in our trash. The great thing about hindsight is it is usually a better judge of things than it's brother - Foresight.

I agree that we seemed happy with Adams and Hughes’ appointments at the time but if we take a backward step and look with hindsight, ask why did they fail? Both are stubborn characters and play dour football. Neither was the right fit.

this is one of our shortcomings at the top. Nobody knows football and we need a director of football (because our absent chairman isnt a football man……if he was he could be trusted to recruit) who appreciates the style of play we will implement rather than looking at candidates who have achieved x or y on a certain budget, and then thinking we can replicate success on our bigger budget, with no understanding or appreciation of their methods used to achieve their previous success.

we need a bloke with some charisma who has a clear idea of how we want to play and gets his players to buy into it.

having a boss happy with one shot on target against Grimsby at home, when dropping points again, isn’t good enough.

Even if Hughes is fired we’ve no DoF to consult in the next recruitment phase. Pot luck again, then, if we fare better.

    hughes out.

Adams was stubborn but got the job done at his 3 previous clubs, Hughes still in the mix for me and Rupp if the rumour is true, his time is running out if he doesn't accept that what we're seeing is poor even at £200 for a season ticket then he's out of touch with reality.
