We've done extremely well with the summer signings but Powell looks like his legs have gone, not a great signing.

 

He’s been out injured too long and is just not fit - nothing more to it than that IMO. No need to make the guy a scapegoat.

 

Let’s get a bit of reality here we have a weakened team through injury and choice and we are playing a nearly full strength premiership side who have a choice of some of the best players in the premiership.

 

I admit, after the second goal I thought it'd be 4 or 5 by half time.

 

Id like to see neuf on at ht to give us an outlet. Sarcevic and Cook (later) on too

Do we play Byrne, Kelly , Hump , Halliday , Powell as starters etc on Sat . It appears it’s an either or tonight .. The forum would melt if we did . If you think the cup has more importance than staying at the top of the league that’s your choice …I don’t . . Opines eh?

 

Of all the summer signings, Powell is the one I just cannot take to. He never looks interested or fit to me. Very strange signing.

Humpheys needs to step up because apart from perhaps his debut, he has been poor.

I presume Swan is injured or ill, hopefully he is back on Saturday.

 

More attitude. Not bothered about his ability or fitness, which I wouldn't expect to match Newcaslte lol

 

He's done well coming on and helping us to see games out. It doesn't sound much but it's an important role. He's pretty canny with keeping the ball up our end and winning free kicks coming on late. He has a role in this squad.

 

Take Powell and Humphries off. Replace with Wright and Cook

 

Totally get that Park, there's no disgrace being beaten by a team of multi million pound players.
My issue is more that we don't really resemble in any way our usual, high intensity selves.

Tough watch! Touray and Pointon look the only 2 capable of doing anything. Hump and Powell are passengers. I get we were always gonna be unlikely to get anything from this but i expected a bit more composure on the ball. We've actually got into some decent positions a few times and then just had no aggression or composure

 

Yet to see the point in Powell, very slow

 

Had a great chance to play someone in early on, but wouldn't play it and ran straight into a man.

Did the same down the touchline.

Was seen moaning when Bobby forces their keeper into his only save of the game.

Think he came in expecting to do something, which I don't mind, but let's adapt to the fact they're too good for a solo effort.
