Something changed today. Presumably announcement number 2.

I could also say I hear Stuart is getting a 1 year contract extension. But maybe that’s bollocks as well.

But as I’m certainly not the only one who’ll know this maybe they like to put it back as they wonder why stories are appearing on line.

Just turn the gossip taps off. Easy.

If a young CEO is appointed along with a director of football who’s an ex premier league manager and Stuart is given a contract extension I guess we’ll know if rumour become fact.

I’ve heard the stories as well, you’d think with most the staff furloughed the taps would be off but the gossip is clearly getting out.

I actually would welcome a DOF appointment, and the establishment of a permanent player scouting/recruitment etc. side, which certainly works with the manager, but is not the manager: a setup (such as is common in North American pro sports) where the General Manager hires/fires the managers/coaches and oversees the player scouting and recruitment aspects as well, obviously with input from whoever is the current manager. This would give some stability, as the GM's tend to last a lot longer in their jobs than the managers/coaches, and when done right should see to it that manager and players are on the same wavelength regarding playing style. That should lessen the player turnover a bit, and get us away from the current system where the new manager is always burdenend with the old manager's players, some/many/all of whom he doesn't rate...

The only way in which making Sparks CEO could possibly ever work is if his remit was just to focus on the commercial operation of the club, with a seasoned DoF brought in to sort all football elements, including scouting and recruitment, with proper backing and investment from Rupp.

 

Maybe Gordon Strachen worked with mccall for Scotland or Walter smith

It will be completely laughable if McCalls contract is extended given our current plight. Don’t get me wrong, I want him gone but I could probably stomach keeping him if there is a proposed change which we think will assist.. But you simply cannot just reward failure and put blind faith in to a guy who does not seem to have learnt anything from his previous tenures.
