If we go up next season, no, he wouldn't be a 'poor' signing as he'll presumably have fulfilled a role that he did at Stockport, but we've also signed him for 2 years even though it would appear he definitely won't be good enough for League One based on his playing history and the fact Stockport instantly let him go.

 

We don’t have the quality of Horsfall and Pye ahead of him. And won’t either because we do what we always do and blow out big on certain areas and neglect others.

This stinks of this in my opinion hope he proves me wrong but a cheap squad filler don’t be fooled by the transfer fee it will be minimal. Hope am wrong!!!

 

Sarcevic is our big spend the rest will be in this cheap filler Ilk. Doesn’t matter if we have Sharpe or Gent if we don’t have the ambition to go above our pay structure to bring success we will get lower league ploders and wonder why the actual quality we sign look poor when they come to us, because they are playing with less quality overall.

Surely he cannot be judged until he has played a few games....how many people on here slated Sam Walker because he was always a "back up keeper " or a "journeyman",or "too old" and look how he turned out.

Never played above L2 in his career obviously Stockport didn't fancy him in L1
Let's hope next season is his purple patch

I don't know this lad. But you need reliable squad players as much as a strong first choice pool. Character, personality and experience are all important, and it looks to me like we're approaching this window similar to Parkys approach in 2013; bring in players who have multiple promotions on their CV and who know what winning, expectation and pressure look like.

Don’t know anything about the guy, but I agree it looks underwhelming on paper. Thankfully games aren’t played on paper! But he hasn’t stayed anywhere for long. What does that tell us?

I think this will turn out to be a good signing. Strikes me as a solid proffesional. A player with a promotion or two under his belt, experience at this level, won't cost too much on wages an wont let us down if called upon

Someone said this earlier an I agree. I get the impression we are entering this market not solely down to potential talent, but also character. We bottled the last two seasons due to a lack of leaders in the squad, I hope the two signings from Stockport make the sort of impact on the pitch an off it that you need when chasing promotion, similar to the 12/13 season under Parky.
