This is what I could find https://www.bradford.gov.uk/media/1953/application-for-temporary-traffic-regulations-for-a-special-eventdoc.docx#:~:text=Your event may require a,Traffic Officer processing your application.

It strikes me that although this is ‘guidance’ rather than ‘regulation’. There is a ‘band’ of charges. I would anticipate that the cost to the council in respect of legal and administrative actions would be drastically reduced, if it was a ‘repeat’ of a closure. So an initial charge for event one and lesser costs for subsequent events. The constant costs would be staff and ‘cones’, although it is possible that City could purchase some approved by the Highways Department.
You would have to close some of the surrounding streets Thorncliffe and Cornwall come to mind, otherwise vehicles could drive down them and enter onto Midland Road.

Don't we already close a part of Midland Road with signs and cones, behind the MR stand. Maybe we just need an extension of this?

Not sure about the current situation, as I enter/leave the ground via Valley Parade and Manningham Lane.
However it would probably need more than just the closure of the Midland Road. As I have said, you can access the Midland Road from Cornwall and Thorncliffe Roads. Also at a push down Valley Parade and Holywellash Lane. They would have to have restrictions as well, otherwise it would be only a partial solution. In fact you could say drivers who accessed the Midland Road from those points, would have more reason to be annoyed (no excuse for dangerous driving).

would either have to be Burlington and Thorncliffe shut at their junctions with Manningham Lane or close Thorncliffe where it meets Burlington.

issue with first one is that everyone using the club car parks would be stuck in whilst the roads are closed issue with second one is that it forces anyone that does come down to go back up the other one back through fans whilst still ‘locking’ in the car park at back of the Kop.

    Why is this so hard?

Block Midland Rd at Bobby Hamstrasse junction to Queens Rd (except away supporter buses ) and all THROUGH roads leading from Manningham Lane onto Midland Rd at their Junction to Midland Rd .

because a lot of them are small roads that mae turning road at the bottom very hard. Can you imagine if the bottom of Thorncliffe was closed and a car had got to the bottom and was trying to turn round with all the crowds there? Now that would be asking for someone to be hurt

which is what I said in a previous post but just for the ones on Queens Road side of VP, but that does mean blocking in all cars parked in the club car parks. Not sure how that would go down with those that have paid over the odds for the parking spaces

just like you said it wasn’t so hard and suggested blocking the roads at the bottom.

doing either isn’t hard or difficult you just get people to put the barriers up. The difficult/hard part is dealing with the traffic. So if you block the top of the road you have to deal with all the people parked in the car parks wanting to get out after paying a premium for the parking space close to the ground to facilitate easy access, I can not imagine telling them to wait half an hour/ an hour would be popular

Other than providing special facilities for the disabled etc , it’s not beyond the wit of providing alternative parking aka park and ride facilities. Either it carries on in this dangerous manner or something is done . Are you proposing doing nothing at all to alleviate the potential for someone being killed ? Taking away the “ opportunity” and then you take away the consequences is the better option surely?

Do the club pay for the road being closed off the length of the Midland Road Stand.
As I posted take it another 30 yards further down Midland Road to Thorncliffe Road blocking it off at the bottom, any businesse could still be accessed from Maningham Lane I cant see a problem, fans would have no fear of cars racing behind them, anx any cars coming vans other direction would be seen as on coming traffic and they would have nowhere to go as Thornclffe Road would be closed for what ever duration the police belived would be required.

Just half an hour after the game close the road from below the one in a million car park to the traffic lights at Queen's Road. If that means no parking on Midland Road then so be it, better to err on the side of public safety.

The road closure would have to be at the junction of Burlington and Thorncliffe so cars do not just hit a road closure and then have to do a three point turn in the crowd.

how about people take responsibility and walk on the pavement?

or close Thorncliffe at junction of. Burlington. Move club officials and players into the car park at back of the kop as they will leave later so not effected as much
