In the world of risk management, reducing the risk is paramount, in this scenario not allowing extra traffic into an area not really designed for the egress of thousands of people at one time seems a logical thing to do. I already understand that there are logistics and possible extra costs, my opinion is based solely.on the matter of potential public safety, not based on last nights events but what I've seen happen over the years.

Indeed. Our family gets a lift to and from matches from the OH. He waits for us on Queens Road after the match. He wouldn't dream of driving up Midland Road to pick us up.

Of course it’s deliberate if they live in the locality and they are homeward bound . Let’s be honest here , if you had zero interest in football, how would you know ?.

Im not defending the stupid btw!

Wife used to pick us up on the little bit of Bolton Lane, it was a doddle thereagain we didn’t have 15-23k crowds then!

Unfortunately this sort of thought process seems to be vanishing from society.

When I was younger my dad used to drop me off and pick me up on midland road, however it was at a time we were getting about 6k average gate, and a decent proportion of that was following Richmond's quid for a kid & £19 a season ticket deal.

I have zero interest in many events that might affect my travel plans or the roads I wish to drive on. I do my own research.
I’m absolutely certain the locals around VP will be aware there is a game on but they go about their usual business because they don’t care and because they are able to.
The whole of MR , Thorncliffe Rd , Burlington Steet and VP should be closed to traffic for 30 mins after each game no questions asked.

One of the pavements is generally partially blocked by poorly parked cars.

Never really affected me too much but there are always annoying little bottlenecks where people have blocked most of the path.

Surely it would be easier to make it no parking then and clear the pavements rather than closing the road?

If they are going to close it then it should be closed to all moving vehicles from Thorncliffe to Queens Road with no cars allowed to go down Thorncliffe for 45 mins after final whistle. All cars parked on there sealed in. People would soon find other places to park.

There is a chronic lack of parking which is getting worse all the time. Take the parking on there away will make it worse especially with the bigger crowds in league one

Then the real issue is that cars should be ticketed is it not?

the parking is no worse than most grounds. People will look elsewhere if they have to wait 45 mins after the match.

they do them every so often for parking on the pavement outside the tip but it isn’t consistent so people risk it

It’s obviously the Manningham lane side not Midland road side but Boland street had tickets on cars after the Crewe and Colchester games.

Not seen them ticket that area for a while before those 2 games.
