I can’t believe that after seeing him in charge for over 70 plus games anyone in football could realistically expect him to turn it around. If he stays wins like Newport will probably occur from time to time but what about the games in between? Despite the 17k announcements, Sparks will know the real attendances. It’s on a downhill spiral and it needs arresting. I fail to believe that Sparks really believes he can give us winning performances when we have had no evidence of that occurring from his 70 plus games in charge. However unlikely it is, any chance at all of having a run towards the playoffs is slipping away game by game. This season could be gone before we get to November.

These are the same people who didn't want Bradford Live because of the traffic disruptions, slag off the building of a grade A office in City park to attract new jobs and think that we should keep the Arndale Centre. How many of those have ever been anywhere near VP ?

80% on here, generally people who actually support the club, want him gone from a fairly similar number of respondents.

You can't just pick and choose which stat, poll etc suits your narrative. I mean I want him gone, but as a regular reader rather than poster here, I haven't voted. Likewise I haven't voted on the T&A website but I still wouldn't say one trumps the other.

Personally I would drive MH back to Wrexham myself, for me he isn't going to change his football philosophy now that the going has got tough, but I can actually understand why some would be wanting to give some more time.

There was a bigger poll done straight after a defeat last night from Parker with a bigger sample and it was Sixty forty in favour of sacking. So he does have the support of plenty of people.not because they are happy with things or think he is doing a good job at the moment, more because the timing is wrong it’s to soon

Am sure the time is right whilst we have enough games left to keep us in touch with the play offs
Or do they think just because "the time isn't right" for whatever reason we should be sentenced to another season in L2 they must have the confidence he can turn it around where that comes from is a complete mystery to me certainly not from what we have seen on the pitch
It makes no sense whatsoever to hang about we've seen enough games to know that he has no intention of turning it round get rid the sooner the better maybe give us a chance to salvage something from this season which remember is a quarter done already

    Devels advocate..

Maybe the budget has been crap this year hence the dross signings

Maybe MH is saying to sparks what do you expect me to do... perhaps January may see some proper investment and the loans are sent back and we have a proper crack at it

Maybe I'm dreaming and clutching at staws

Dep't of Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics:

How many permanent managers have we had with League winning percentages of 40% or higher?
How many permanent managers have we had with League losing percentages of 30% or lower?
How many permanent managers belong to both groups?
Does Mark Hughes belong to both groups?

    10 / 8 / 6 / Yes (as of right now)

McFarland, Westgarth, Barker, Dolan, and Mulhall are the others in both groups.

And yet, 77% of the respondents to the poll here say his time is up. I'm one of them -- I just don't see how manager and players can turn this around.

Overall a nice example of how numbers can be deceptive.

Good spot this was; it was a clear indication that something was going on behind the scenes.

Funny you should say the "timing is wrong".

Our boy Sparks always fires someone within weeks of a transfer window shutting, and always months away from the transfer window opening again.

Such short-sighted action inevitably hobbles the next manager upon arrival at a crap time when they can change nothing.

You don’t fire a manager who has just taken the club to the play offs. Unless your saying they should have persevered

I'm saying the timing of firing managers is always crap under Ryan.

You go further by saying Hughes shouldn't have been fired at all.

Yet you're 100 % behind Sparks, thinking he's doing a superb job, and (presumably) that nobody out there could do it better.

    Puzzling.

The timing was right. Another 3/4 poor results and we could be 10-12 points off the play-offs.
At least the new guy has got a chance of saving the season.

Not even one who made a catastrophic error of judgement in taking off his best player in the playoffs and then admitted he was hoping for a winning lottery ticket (Penalties)
