    Something needed doing being cynical I do agree up to a point, he was a man up to his neck in quicksand.
    Will the same set of rules apply to Hughes i.e. his player budget is based on season ticket sales or has part of the deal to bring Sparkie in (he won't be cheap) been Rupp will provide extra money to have a real go next season, one right out of the Blue Moon exciting signing without doubt.

    Sparks has redeemed himself, a fantastic appointment. Premiership within 5 years.

    Derek Adam’s, "If they are going to get a new manager in, they are not going to get a manager as successful as myself,"

    The reputation, quality, knowledge and contacts Hughes has completely outweighs anything Adam’s could offer.

    :joy: I wondered the same, Saturday is going to be interesting - big Mansfield following, big Sparky welcome and 2 men and a dog with protest banners!

    Being serious, need to see a bit more from RS and Rupp as to what is being put in place to back up their words of support before we get too carried away

    You clearly don't like him because he as a Man Utd legend he went on to manage Man City. We are a league two team, no one expects him to come in and play like Liverpool (though we will all be happy if he doesnt get us to play like Manure) and this is quite possibly the BIGGEST NAME appointment a League Two team have ever made as manager.

    You are a miserable sod who no longer attends but just wants to moan about the club. Not been on this site for months but thought I’d give it a revisit to see if someone had anything positive to say about Sparks coup of getting Mark Hughes but no ,the usual moans.

    No, at Blackburn I will give you he was fairly good but he got Stoke relegated despite having spent a lot of money both in fees and wages that year (Yes he was sacked halfway through but the post-Hughes results were better)

    His previous clubs are quite good at producing youth players so hopefully we’re back to that as a focus/option

    I don't have a problem with Hughes as a player or person. He is just backwards as a manager. Your last line sums up why he's been appointed because he is a big name
