Where did you get the 4 from? I reckon our budget is probably the largest in the league.
Wrexham and Notts county won’t be spending more than us on wages this season. I’m also dubious on MK dons but Gillingham is a possibility.
We will be paying large wages out to a number of players including Walker and Smallwood. Our budget looks to have been well spread out rather than on a couple of quality additions which imo is all we needed. The squad is over inflated.

Yellow cards are competition specific so they only count in the competition you get them. The number for a ban in the league is 5 by game 19, 2 in the EFL Cup, 2 in the EFL Trophy and 4 in the FA Cup. Platt is currently on 3 yellows in the league and 1 in the EFL Cup. Of the other players:
    • Walker is on 3 league yellow cards
    • Smallwood, Kelly, Oyegoke (2 league)
    • Halliday, Pattison, Stubbs (1 plus 1 EFL Cup)
    • Gilliead and Richards (1 league)
13 games is a long time to go for those already on a couple then if they get to 5 they've got to get to 37 games without getting to 10 or it's a 2 game ban.

Why has there been no explanation for the delay in announcing this signing?

It was because of international clearance.

I believe this is the year that Wrexham and Notts County are able to push the boat and have a high budget because anyone they had in their squad and got promoted with counts at a flat rate of salary/wages and that allows them to spend more on others. There was a big debate around this when the cap came in of I remember right.

When the EFL wanted to change the wage cap mechanism to a fixed amount a few years ago, what you describe was part of the change. The new arrangement was however kicked out and it reverted to the original SCMP mechanism. The wages cap is simply a function of a club's so-called turnover without any recognition of existing contractual commitments. That applies to Wrexham and County along with every other League 2 club.

There are certain conditions applied to ppl from other countries when they are on a work visa. It might be you have to get the Home Office permission to move to another work venue.

I read it somewhere, it sounded plausible and assumed it was because he was American?

I think he has dual nationality. Which would make sense if he's able to work in the UK at all given that he's not an established international player.

Hasn’t he represented the US in one of the “ junior” age groups?

I don’t know the ins and outs of cross jurisdiction transfers without looking, but clearly it’s all above board otherwise the EFL wouldn’t have recognised it?

It says clearance from the EFL not international clearance.

I honestly don’t understand what the problem is here. The EFL will deal with visa and immigration problems.
