    Really?

Pretty much everyone said he was our best player and would probably grow into a good championship player.

He was raved about like Paudie was.

At least those fans got it right for once. Cullen was going to be a top Prem player and Burke an England captain according to social media.

I'll hold my hands up over Burke. I honestly thought he'd make a PL player but hasn't really progressed.

Cullen didn't do enough going forward but he was certainly talented and it was obvious he'd play a lot higher than us.

Paudie? Never got the hype and unless he improves dramatically this year I think we'll be looking to replace him. Big year coming up for the lad so fingers crossed for him.

I too thought Burke would have got a gig in the premiership, to be fair to Cullen he is playing at a very good level and will more than likely end up back in the premier league. As for O'Brien it was clear very early on the lad had the talent to go all the way as the lad covers a lot of bases in terms of core skill, unbelievable workrate, can play deep or further forward, can set up and score and has a good range of passing. Only weakness is he's predominantly one footed but the reputed £10 million price tag is a relative bargain these days.

Anyone who understands football knew how good this lad was.

Town chairman admits they turned down a £13 million bid but said there was only about a million difference in a deal being done. When I hear about certain players attracting interest from above divisions I take it with a pinch of salt because I see nothing in the players game to suggest he'd warrant a move that high up but O'brien is one of those that has the skilset to play in the championship.

Me too. Much as I like him, £13m is a great offer for him
