    Don’t know why, but this group popped up on my FB feed “sober today” (perhaps I post about beer too much). And here’s a post written by former City player Lee Crooks who played for us in 2004/5. Seems he joined the forces after giving up football. Has been through some hard times by the looks of it. I wish him well.

    I remember Lee Crooks, must have been around 2004/05 when he played for us.

    Played about 40 games for us. Remember him scoring a belter from the edge of the box one game, but he didn’t score many in his career.

    Defensive midfielder, tough tackling type. I remember he started at Man City but can't remember who we got him from.

    Barnsley on a free transfer. Hard pressing midfielder from my recollection.
    The utter belter he scored for us was against Tranmere in the cup. Virtually ripped the net out the back of the goal.
