It is laughable how the arguments have grown on this thread. Does the gesture have to be anti-Rahic and a dig at the club? Surely the motive could be an amusing send off to a friend and colleague. I would have found it amusing and nothing more. I think the whole thing has been blown massively out of proportion. I also don't see why the club chose to get involved (if indeed it did). Surely a quiet word to the ambassadors would have been enough?

 

Absolutely agreed. Well said. The quicker we get people like him out of the club the better.

 

Does it actually matter, now?
It's out in the open, and has been corroborated - so what is of any value in your post, other than to say 'I told you so' ?

 

It does matter. Someome who works for the club who's been feeding rumours, bullshit, lies and gossip to a random person on the internet clearly has an agenda so is hardly a reliable source to back up anything anti Rahic. I know for a fact that half of what he tells you isn't true and even if it was, it's extremely sly and unprofessional. A bit of an embarrassment to the club if you ask me.

 

Is that like the 'Blinkered reader effect' ? - Bullshit the majority and capture the audience, type strategy.

Let's reiterate what is factual here
Sponsors wanted the friendly between City and Guiseley to honour James Mason time at City.
Guiseley were happy to do this, however approached City to see if they were happy with this
City said they didn't want to do this.
Guiseley pulled the plug on having the sponsor in James Mason's name, because a few hundred quid, isn't as much as a 1500 crowd every close season.

It's no great shakes at end of day, however it show just how delicate Rahic is viewing the clubs ( his) relationship with the fans are at the moment.

And
From my point of view, I do believe that his stance on this decision, doesn't enhance the current fan-club relationship, even though further damage is negligible, we'll save that for when the season is underway.
