Why would you “honour” or have a game like a “testimonial” for someone who has worked , as an employee, NOT a player, at a football club; for less than 5 years is a joke.

Note: I have worked for TWO employers all my employed life; one for 29 years and the other 20 years. Give me a bloody break Steve.

This just about sums up the terrible divided state we are in.
- A group of City 'supporters' attempt to sponsor a match using the name 'James Mason Appreciation Society'. Either they are thick as pig shit (unlikely) or this is a deliberately provocative act, designed to embarrass the club, given the speculation about the circumstances of James leaving.
- Guiseley recognise that they are being unwittingly drawn into a machiavellian plot to provoke division and negative publicity for City, so they sensibly refuse the sponsorship.
- Someone connected with the failed ruse then anonimously feeds Bronco with a statement to post on here, but falsely attributes the refused sponsorship to Edin's intervention rather than Guiseley's good sense.
- Cue bunfight on here.

Like some other regular posters, I've recently taken a back seat on here because I'm sick of all the infighting. I have my doubts about some of the owners' statements and actions and whether their plan for the club will work. But we are where we are. The owners are not going anywhere so we might as well try to get behind the club and hope that the plan succeeds. Sniping at every last little thing the owners do at every possible opportunity will not help matters. And deliberately trying to use a match sponsorship to embarrass the club and create further division is pathetic.

 

There’s only 1 person to blame and it is he that is provoking the reaction. If the owners don’t want to be verbally bashed, perhaps they should stop acting like asses? This is what needs to stop, not the fact that people are happy to speak out when they can see something very wrong at their club...!

Deliberately using an obviously contentious match sponsorship name to create sniggers and embarrassment for the club, and then anonymously feeding a skewed version of events to Bronco to provoke a reaction on here, is a bloody strange way to 'speak out' about events at the club. It's just divisive muck-raking and in no way is it helpful or constructive.

The sponsorship should have been called “Head in the sand society”, because they would rather pretend these things aren’t going on, because it would prove they were wrong to believe all Edin’s shite.

 

And the owners (Rahic) played straight into their hands by behaving like the school bully once more. Whether it is true that it was created specifically for a reaction or not, isn’t the point. Edin fell for it and those “organising the trap” knew he would AND THAT’S THE POINT

Unless Edin has nothing to do with Guislely pulling the sponsorship like @Jam has said.

 

@wetherbywhaler what is your take on this? As one of the ‘ambassadors’, were you aware of this ‘ruse’ and were you in on it?

Was it you that sent the message to Dave and asked him to copy and paste? And is the version published by @Jam the more accurate one.

But that’s the issue isn’t it. Bronco has aired his views negatively against the owners and so when he posted what he did, it was immediately dismissed as mischief making.

Jam is on the other side of the see-saw and posted a counter-claim. The fact is, we have no idea which version is correct.

All I do know is that James felt the need to quit his dream job and walk away from work at somewhere he loves. He was “gutted”, yet still chose to leave with no job or offers on the table. Seriously, what does that tell us about the goings on at City.

And this info I do KNOW for a fact, having discussed this with him personally.
