I just want to say how proud to be a fan of this great club. I wasn’t able to attend last night I watched it on TV. The fans were immense, the KOP in particular was just brilliant. The thank you to the players and the manager was something I will never forget. It brought a tear to my eye for sure.

Yes we are all disappointed we couldn’t get past Bolton, but this season has been enjoyable. Time to relax summer is on its way and watch the comings and goings at VP. In GA we trust.

I agree with you .. but with one major proviso. Finishing in a play-off position has raised expectations for next season.

Personally speaking, I would have been happy with a mid-table finish this season but we have over-achieved and many will now regard that as the norm and therefore the starting point for the future. GA has done a remarkable job in this campaign and will be expected by many to repeat that again next season. Unfortunately, without investment of many millions from Rupp, other new partners or even a new owner, I will be surprised if we can improve on this season's achievements or even repeat it. The upcoming transfer window will be an important indicator of the club's ambitions and whether it has genuine promotion intentions.

Why would I put someone with an opposing viewpoint on ignore? He’s not rude to me - forums would be dull if everyone simply agreed with one another. I think he’s one of the better posters on here, whether I disagree with him or not.

I can see why people wouldn’t rate Baldwin. I don’t think he’s sensational, just offers something that our other centre halves don’t and I’d sooner upgrade on Tilt, who is a walking disaster half of the time. Having said all of which, Tilt is under contract for another year and Baldwin isn’t, so the latter will be the easiest to dispose of.

Not wanting to blow smoke up your arse after you've just beaten us but that was the noisiest away following I've heard for over ten years. We've come a long way in a very short time and as a club are a bit behind you in terms of squad quality and the level of investment needed to even just survive at the bottom of the championship.
Good luck for next season .

Bolton are more suited to the wide open spaces with the way they play but Stockport are the next best of the playoffs teams as it showed in how they wiped the floor with Stevenage. A long ball style hoofball approach ain't gonna work at Wembley.

Agree to repeat this seasons magnificent effort and go one stage further it will take some investment from our owner although there are still players out there who could be added to the squad and improve it unfortunately they are usually the wrong side of 30, Norwood at Stockport has been outstanding this season but he's 35.
I get the frustration from some fans but honestly can't see where we could have signed a striker who would have got us the goals to have made the difference in some of our results since the New Year without paying over the odds, as we known the January window is a sellers market.

GA mentioned in his post match how emotional he was with the reception that everybody got after the match.
We fell short but overall it has to go down as a decent season.

There's the possible upside that we have a decent side already for this level but lacked that bit of quality. In theory we can focus on 3 or 4 players that will improve that without having to replace the whole side. But things aren't always so linear. Even if we do a good job in the summer window the league might be stronger next year.

100% agree on the Jan window. We could have done better absolutely, but it has to be recognised what a difficult market it is.

I think that could be a problem for them. If Cozier-Dubery and Sissoko are lured away they’ll struggle to replace them.

Indeed, for all that people are bigging up how much better than us they were over two legs, we restricted them to just three shots on target across the whole of the two legs. Unfortunately, two of those went in.

I can’t comment on the first two because I didn’t see them. But the one given against Neuf was outrageous. Neuf was tripped and then clearly jumped over their defender. How anyone could give that as a free kick to Bolton is inexplicable.

Absolutely. Jackson looked so much more threatening when he was moved to wide right. I don’t think he’s a natural centre forward. He should have scored from that chance in the first leg, where the keeper had left a gap a mile wide at the near post, instead of falling over and looking for the penalty. A natural goalscorer would have buried that.

TBH I was surprised that Baldwin didn’t get a red. It was right in front of me and he clearly kicked your players legs from under him after the ball had gone out. Very stupid and extremely lucky not to be starting next season with a three match ban.
But, equally, Gale very obviously threw a punch at one of our players. It was blatant and I can’t believe the officials all missed it. He should have walked too.

If Gale hadn’t blocked and pushed the ball away then nothing would have happened - he’s walked away ‘Scott free’ from the entire incident.

The Bolton lad should have been booked for moving the ball once it had been placed then moving towards it again so that we couldn't take the kick. Then just blow the whistle and get on with the game.

As it is, the Bolton player is the one that's caused the fracas by doing something against the laws of the game and got away with it completely scot free. It's no wonder players continue with the dark arts if referees continually refuse to clamp down on it properly.
