- black shorts in seasons 1933-34, 34-35, 45-48, 65-68, 68-69, 69-72
- black socks in 1907-23, 24-34, 50-51, 65-72

black was used by the club way before the fire and was originally brought in as a throwback to the original colours of manningham rugby club (black and white) before they took on claret and amber.. so stop trying to use everything as a stick to beat the owners with - it's boring.

 

I said on the shirts not shorts or socks, so please read my post thoroughly before you jump in all high and mighty and making a fool of yourself.
Black WAS introduced on the shirts after the fire as a mark of respect.

calm down and take a sip of water.. plenty of black on the 93-94, 07-08 and 08-09 home shirts - i trust you wrote to the club then to let them know of your disappointment? or that there wasn't enough amber in the 09-10 home shirt? as our colours are claret and amber, not claret with a small amber patch. i also notice how your post was directed straight at edin rahic and not mr. rupp (majority shareholder and owner) or james mason. if you're going to try and deflect away from your obvious dislike of mr rahic then at least be a bit smart about it and aim it at the club, not a singular figure.

Where we sit we have the visiting scouts and ref assessors sat very near by and there have been numerous comments about it being hard to see the numbers on the shirts this season. maybe the league have had a word so the black block is to make it easier

I guess we should all just calm down - until we see the actual shirts in full. TBH, this is an absolute pants photo, and I can't see how anyone can be making judgement and casting aspersions on some crappy papp photo

Lets wait and see in a few weeks. I'm sure they'll be doing some teaser photos to get us talking, hopefully better quality than this photo!

For what it's worth, I liked the Admiral and Bukta kits. I'm old school. Never a fan of the hoops or just one block colour. Will forever be stripes for me (correct amount and width), although I do have to say I rather liked the crazy Front Runner diamond kits we had.

You do realise all those dates were AFTER the fire, which was the point being made. Good grief is it that hard to comprehend? Our colours are claret and amber, NOT claret and black with a touch of amber...!

I think the point they were making was it isn't just a touch of black in those kits. A touch of black would be a small bit of black trim or a black ribbon etc.

True, Bruce said he doesn’t mind a flash of black, such as the introduction of the ribbon or the small touches in the earlier kits. Completely different to claret shirts with black panel at the back (if true) and black sleeves.

But Brisbane doesn’t seem to comprehend this. Maybe it’s too early in the morning for him and he needs another coffee
