    Of course.

Nothing to do with the fact that he’s 35 and coming to the end of his career and we don’t want him on a deal until 2020 if he gets an extension where he will be at the club at 37 year s old

No it’s because he liked McCall

If killa goes and Robinson as expected, we need a bit more cover at he left hand side of the defence.

Leaves us needing at least 2 If not 3 before the loan window shuts

He signed an extension last year - there's no way we'd have offered him a deal that he could trigger an extension if we had no intention of keeping him.

it's got nothing to do with triggering an extra year. because he could easily have triggered that last season.

    Pure subterfuge, Ricc.
Neither party would have offered or signed a deal with such a flimsy base, surely ?
I don't doubt there is a problem, but that could be personal, not professional, from either side.

A week is a long time, in football, they say. So Six plus months could represent a 'lifetime', and circumstances do change. ;)

At that point we'd have been in the Premier League with our rock solid backline of an 83 year old Gordon Greer and 37 year old Kilgallon, if only Edin wasn't so stubborn.

The new deal would have been a drop in the ocean compared to the riches on offer from the TV money.

I'd suggest 'more clever' in our contract distribution.

An' people were lauding Mason for 'getting the right people in.'!
(Just thought I'd throw that in too, whilst we're all at it. ;))

Hard to use Greer as support for our model and transfer policy given how pathetic our defence was last season.

It's hard to imagine Greer would have made it worse, regardless of age.

If this clause exists, why did we then put it in his contract if we had no intention of honouring it? It doesn't benefit the club or Kilgallon.

According to Collins, he's been left out for footballing reasons. I dont expect him to start but preferring NKP, Isherwood and Chicksen to him is a poor error of judgement.

Yes Kills must be performing very poorly to not even get in the bench - or either MC does not like him or MC is towing the party line.

    I agree, Tawheed.
I didn't see too many games, last season - But one thing is for sure ....... Kilgallon dragged City out of the crap more than once, in each game I saw. That quality is not easy to replace, and it isn't apparent on our 'Bench', so far.
I think we need 'Killa', more than he needs us, but City have yet to see that.

I’m just going off what all the in the knows were telling me that he was been frozen out due to this contract extension clause.

Seems they were wide of the mark. Whatever next

    100%.

If for whatever reason our manager feels that our current player of the season is worse than them 3 then we have serious problems and as I feel he isn't up for this job.

It makes no sense but it made no sense hiring Collins in the first place.

A friend who lives in Edinburgh says he has been mentioned up there re Hearts - could be something in this as they have just lost Berra through injury for a few months.

With all the chat about his age, possible issues with appearances etc it should not be forgotten he was our player of the year last season - he was also fit throughout the campaign so pretty sure he can still do a job for someone (if not us!)

The only issue for me is he signed an extension to his contract for this season so why would he want to leave or not play.

Not buying Collins explanation that Killa has been left out so far, as he is so far down the pecking order. Something not right.
Are they trying to get rid of one of our possible highest earners just for the sake of it, or has there been a falling out with Killa and someone at the club
Whatever the reason, I suspect he will be on his way before the end of August

Absolutely have to keep Killa. McGowan and O'Connor should be our starting partnership but should one of them get injured or suspended I'd much rather Killa came in than NKP or god forbid Isherwood.

That's the sort of quality you need on the bench and exactly what we don't have upfront so why be stupid and let an experienced professional go?

What do we do if at Killa’s age he has turned around and said he doesn’t want to be on the bench?

If that was the case, we should've known by now, got rid and replaced adequately.

If that is the case How, it does make you wonder how can he have gone from the clubs Player of the Year to such a fringe player in the space of a close season? He was also one of the few players who seemed to have a 'unity' with the fans during the difficult 2nd half of last season - all a bit strange (but what isn't at VP these days!)
