Kids Losing Interest

Attendances this weekend will say otherwise.

 

Maybe so, though there's every possibility this weekend will be a bit of a novelty as we've not had it for so long. I've got a ticket and I'm looking forward to it but I know I won't be going the Tuesday after, nor will one of the lads I'm going with, so whilst I agree Saturday will be a special occasion I don't think it will be sustained throughout the season. May be wrong, but that's my hunch.

 

It will be based on form I would suggest, like most seasons. How well we play on Saturday will directly effect how many turn up on the Tuesday.

There is a bit of a confidence thing going round at the moment too. Many are already back where they were 18 months ago, some are a little edgy but I say having been locked down for so long, many people realise how much they have missed the simple things in life so I think it will have the opposite effect.

 

Definitely a valid point. Who knows, it could be a bit of both.. I know people who fit into both categories!

Me too. I don't think many die hard football fans will have realised there is a bigger and broader life beyond going to football matches. They may have developed other interests as well, but to a man, every footie fan I know who regularly attends live matches cant wait to get back.

I reckon @bantamlad92 is misreading things badly and crowds could even get bigger because the vast majority of people are craving normality not hiding from it.

As great as that is, I don't think too much can be looked into that. Realistically this is to be expected in comparison to last season as there was far more uncertainty for people's livelihoods, attending games and the general economical outlook than there is at present.

 

We've announced 17k tickets sold too.

There is also the feel good effect that England have had on the country football wise which can't be underestimated.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Another reason for kids to lose interest

 

Take kids to games like today with 16,000 in the ground , with a win and they will DEMAND to attend, ours did when in D3/2/ & pre prem days and it sty’s with them for life, despite other attractions.
