    KEVIN ELLISON will line up for his 1,000th senior appearance when Vauxhall Motors host Runcorn Linnets on Saturday.
    The much-travelled Liverpool-born forward is still going strong at the grand old age of 46.
    Ellison (pictured above) made more than 100 appearances in two spells Chester City and also lists Tranmere, Stockport, Hull City, Bradford City and Newport County as his former clubs.
    Calum McIntyre, meanwhile, is hoping to have a few players back to bolster the Chester ranks for a National League North away day.

    Didn't particularly like him as a player, even when he joined us but you've got to hold your hands up and say that this is an incredible achievement and I wish him many more years in the game.

    The dedication levels and sacrifices must be absolutely off the scale.

    Used to love the pantomime villain attitude towards fans, took it and gave it back. Struggled with mental health aswell but without reaching the top an excellent career and a good pro

    I always called him the very annoying Kevin Ellison, because he was. He was on the subs bench at Morecambe the last time I went there, when something he said clearly riled another sub before kick off, Ellison was then on the receiving end of a hot cup of coffee. He just laughed it off and ran off.
    He could start a fight in a paper bag.
