    Never really noticed him throughout his career but hasn't done too bad for himself, hope he has a better time than scannel who came with a similar pedigree.

    He's done brilliantly for himself actually. I know we joke sometimes about players looking like they've won a competition to play, but this lad actually has. He started his pro career at Swindon after winning Samsung's 'win a pro contract' competition in 2013.

    What about assists though because playing wider, that would be a good indication

    I'd see him as someone who attacks with pace to create the initial break and then passes

    • 2024/25 Campaign: His most productive season at Pride Park, where he made 46 league appearances and contributed to 5 total goals (3 goals, 2 assists).
    • 2025/26 Campaign: Jackson was used mostly as an "impact sub" before his transfer, appearing in 21 games across all competitions but failing to register a goal or assist in this period.

    Going back much further, memorable debut goals I recall - Collymore v L**ds (as much for the celebration as the overhead kick) and many years ago, Tony Adcock who scored a worldy on debut and then did absolutely nothing else! Also think Sean McCarthy scored and got sent off on debut but may be wrong about that.

    One big difference is that Scannel came with a reputation as a sick note and certainly lived up to it whereas Jackson has a very good fitness record.

    I know it was handball but the way he took his 'goal' was composed and placed away from the goalie's reach rather than blasting it. Cool as.

    Great option to have away from home instead of Pointon.
    I fully expect him to play left sided 10 with Sarc on the right (if he doesn't leave this window) when we are on our travels.
