My concern with our youngsters we release or mutual consent is if they come good elsewhere-like Tyler Robert’s seems to have done quite well at Exeter.
I’d prefer if we helped find them another club and retained say a 20-25% sell on.
I know we’ll get solidarity for any trained players

 

If our youngsters can’t make an impression in the average squad we have or when they go out on loan, then maybe releasing them is the best all round.

 

Would not be surprised if skales follows even Staunton unless he becomes a left back no chance at centre back getting in this squad. When a midfielder is preferred over a centre back it’s time to move on.

 

It’s a damm shame that Staunton isn’t in the first team squad he has the ability

As a coach that sadly is the case, they have to show something that makes them potentially stand out from the crowd - so few actually make the grade to play league football.
Hopefully we have a few more good ones coming through from the current under 19s who seem like a good batch

 

Good luck to the lad. Best he can hope for at this stage realistically is Conference North, but as we’ve seen in the past it can lead back to the FL if he develops.

I’d be shocked, he looked appalling against Chesterfield pre season and didn’t sound like he set the world alight at Spennymoor. But strange things have happened, Barnsley signed DMH.

Hey, if he goes to a development squad he could easily go to a Championship club.

 

Adams will talk with the coaches who are developing these kids and no doubt will attend games if he's told one of the kids should be considered, but I'm right behind him, we need to get out of this league and I don't see us doing that by bringing kids into the first team squad unless their good enough.
Out of interest who was the last kid to come through our development sides make the first team and got sold on and made their mark in a higher division, Dean Richards ?

 

The likes of Staunton was playing well until his injury last season played well in pre season and isn’t even in the Squad

 

That would be less of a surprise than a Harrogate who I’d imagine will be looking for first team ready players.
