Well there was rumours he didn't like the 'north east clique' when he became manager. He has pretty much decimated that crew now with only Kavanagh remaining. Gilli, Patts, Richie, Brad and Cooky all gone.

Got a new contract, probably 2.5 years and will be off to Celtic Park and Ibrox to play in front of 50k plus. Id say he has done alright personally.

How many are reporting in for summer training?...... 3 maybe 4? Pointon unless a bid comes in, Walker but maybe we look at another number 1 next season, certainly if we go up. Baldwin and Wright maybe? Sarce if we are in L1 might get another deal but i feel this ruthless streak might call it a day with him at his age in the summer.

If and when Brad does move on, he is another that can hold his head up high
    Never let us down
As for the Oliver debate all players signed are a gamble, let’s just say this one failed and leave it there’

GA loves Sarcevic, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get another deal regardless - although 6 months is a long time in football. If he continues his output, Id say he does.

Depends where we are for me. In L1 it's a no brainer, in the Champ it's different. And, he'll be 34 by the end of the season, so his next deal is likely to be his last decent contract, he might well hang around and see what the best offer is.

With us 3rd in League 1, Alexander has certainly earned the right to overhaul the squad. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season goes with so much turnover.

Halliday can go with head held high . One who always gave his all to the cause. Happy if he gets a longer deal because I think he would have been gone at the end of the year anyway.

I'd have been interested to have been a fly on the wall with McIntyre. Seemed to have had decent enough ability but hasn't gotten a look in now in his last 2 or 3 clubs. Wonder what's behind that.

I feel we're seeing more movement because of our league position.

If we were mid-table we'd probably be more in consolidation mode

Personally I'm pleased with all the transfer business the club are doing right now, yes good pro's are moving on but its hard to disagree with any of it if we are looking to be ambitious

There is no time for sentiment in Sharpe's player transfer policy.

It's sad to see these players go, but with the budget we're working with, we need to be cut-throat in our transfer policy to compete.

So far it is working. We let our captain and player of the season go after a promotion season.

    Nonetheless, still sad.

Sad, but we're 3rd in League 1 so we're doing something right.

All the best to Brad, one hell of a player and professional.

I do think that how well we've started has thrown the pre-season transfer plans out of the window and a lot of what we had planned to do in the summer we are doing in this window.
Unfortunately for lower league players the risk of the job is that by doing well you play yourself out of a club, if you do well and get a club promoted there's a good chance most won't be at the level needed. We're in a similar position to what Wrexham fans have felt over the last 12 months where players who did well to get them to where they are today are no longer needed.
There's no doubt this is a risk but for me it's one we've got to take after starting so well, even if we don't get promoted this is a great opportunity to get a head start of the summer and have the start of a strong league 1 squad ready before we get to the summer.
When we've not got the best budget in the league we need to be clever with our money and that includes not having some of our highest earners who are either not in the squad or not up to what we need.
Halliday certainly grew into the wing back role and there's no doubt he's improved a lot over the 3 years of playing it but we need more from that role when it is key to our threat from the wide areas.

Aye, it helps playing players in their natural position instead of the Pointon role.

McIntyre gone back to Portsmouth.I think his problem here was that he was essentially left footed, which meant he was up against Tilt,Kelly, and Touray for a team spot.

Is Bobby now our longest tenured first teamer? Not even including his academy days?

Must be….it was Cook until this week and can’t think of any that pre-date him, Halliday and Pointon.

Bobby is the only player left now with whom GA inherited.

Sam Walker second longest here now with current squad.
