Tired and some could easily say stale ? Caveat . Stale in the sense that too many players are repeatedly playing games and getting burnt out? Neufville, Bobby, Sarce, Wright T??? Just a thought .

we’ve been here before with youth striker loans it just doesn’t work at this club. Don’t know it’s the scouting , set up or pressure of the crowds but they don’t work. Can’t think of one success story in the last 10 years.

 

Can’t understand how the club were talking about buying the ground back and trainning facilities but won’t/can’t spend on transfer fees to get this club into a another dimension financially in the championship (even if that’s missing out this year, it’s in place for next) I mean the transfers now are usually staggered so we don’t pay it all upfront. I don’t get it.

 

That's fair but the season won't live or die by this one signing. Wheatley is there to compliment what we already have and give us more options. If he's decent then he'll get plenty of minutes, if he isn't then it'll be back to the tried and tested of Swan/ Humphrys, Bobby and Sarc.

I am certainly attracted to bringing on pace towards the end of a game as opposing sides tend not to bring on sub defenders rather midfield players, thus pace against tired legs .

I’m with you here - if he signs, it’ll be to play a part in a team performance. He isn’t signing to be a 9 and I doubt they’ll give him that shirt.

 

I like the idea of Wheatley, looks to have something we don't up top. He's got the size but also some speed which we don't really have up top. Even if he makes a few cameos, his press and pace might cause enough problems that him or someone else have enough space to get efforts away late on. Cant imagine the Cardiff back 3 want to see him again after the video of the game earlier in the season. Obviously depending on how "injured" he still is.

Yeah, after that performance I really had a feeling we were going to give Rotherham an absolute spanking. Would've set us up nicely for Cardiff. Now, I'm a little apprehensive again.

 

From the short clip I watched of him at Northampton he also liked like he had strength and a bit of bite. They'd be useful attributes in our pressing style.

 

So couldn’t the chairman loan or subsidie the singing say of a Jatta, which is most likely to be a staggered payment, probably a saleable asset down the line and may contribute to automatic promotion and at the very least play off and the revenues off that?

 

Maybe he is running the club as all football clubs should be run within its means and how do you,me or anyone know what they have planned we may still get that forward you never know ............ it maybe a case of waiting to see if we can shift a few more out of the door before we splash a bit of cash ................to much of a mass obsession to get a forward in when in reality we have more than got by with out oñ ...............and lets not forget the second coming of Will Swann ole ole

They are all 24 with experience

 

I was underwhelmed when I first read it but we are going on what happened at Walsall who at the time were in relegation form. He is a year on and a few l1 games under his belt. I think GA and DS know more about the game and our squad than me so will give the lad a chance. He looks to give us different options to what we already have
