To be fair it’s not a “mystery illness”, it sounds like a winter bug that he had a few days off with, and due to positive results on the pitch since he returned he’s not had a look in. I’d be surprised/disappointed if we don’t see him in the squad over Christmas.

 

I just don't think he looks the same player since his return. I know it's been cameo roles but he seems miles off it to me and Alexander must feel the same. He might make the squad but I wouldn't be surprised if he stays on the bench. Port Vale might be a more likely game for him if any.

 

That's the thing with cruciate injuries, more often than not the player doesnt come back the same. Roy Keane has said a few times on shows that he should have retired after he did his. Rodri hasn't looked the same or kept fit since. Even guys we've had lower down the pyramid, Lee Angol at one point was having 7 figure bids in for him until his cruciate issues. That Evans lad we signed for a bit last year had 18 months off with his ACL, played a bit for us, a bir for Oldham and had to retire.

It can be a career ender. The fact that Cook still has glimpses, still looked a handful for a CB, still held the line to try get the team up is a good thing. But not in a million years can he play on his own up top anymore. If we played Cook in a 2, he's starting most games for me with our current crop, maybe never plays more than an hour but still him with a smaller running lad aside would work better. Cant see us altering a thing though just to try fit in Cook who'll be off in the summer.

 

Summer certainly , Jan is a possibility I wouldn’t rule out tbh?

 

I think we all knew that the injury would more than likely spell the end of Cookies run with City, no matter how much we wished otherwise
Replacing now is going to be very hard, not impossible. Only silly money gets good strikers in the jan window.

 

Sounds like Joe Taylor coild be heading out the Huddersfield exit door and on his way to Doncaster.

 

Out of contract in the summer and plays 50% of the time.
Be a good move for all.

 

And likely on a fair wage too. I like the lad but I think it’s time to move on.

Offloading Cook and Patto seems highly likely given their exclusion from recent matches. Disappointed Cook has had no real game time, as he is our only natural goalscorer. Hope we have a good replacement lined up.

 

Our strength lies in our number 10s role.
A quality number 10 is needed to compete and most likely replace Sarc in the summer.

 

I thought that Richards and Pennington were both out with hamstring injuries.

 

Yeh it’s seems as though those two and Kav are down the pecking order.

Pennington was in training according to my lad who went down yesterday.
Said Sarc finished early and did something seperate.

 

Why replace Sarc? He's completely outstripping Poinron so far this season.

 

Pointin started the season brilliantly but does seem to have dropped off a bit. Personally I’m not sure he suits that wide position he’s playing. He lacks the pace to consistently stretch full-backs or beat defenders one on one which limits his effectiveness there. He’d be far more effective in a central position where he could find pockets of space, unlock defences with his intelligence on the ball and pose a more direct goal threat. He’s got a lot of talent but I’m not sure we’re fully utilising it atm.
