He certainly looks like he can thread a pass through the channels, which is something we currently lack in central midfield. Swan, in particular, would relish those through balls.

No they had a decision to make and the player also wanted the move. They expected him to make it in League 1, but 400k vs a risk he might not (injury or just not good enough). It's a similar one to if someone came in for Kav last Jan. If someone offered that sort of money you'd think we'd take it. Somewhat different that Kav had played more games etc.

In this case I know i'm correct and Wigan valued him, but he also wanted to play first team football and increase his wages by a lot. In case of confusion read the I KNOW... bit again

 

Spot on, they felt he needed another season of development. The player had the choice of a loan move again to L2/Natonal or permanent move for a decent wedge at York. York are spending good money on players and wages. If you're a 20/21 year old... money talks.
