Wednesday, Oxford possibly pomepy maybe Norwich next year and I imagine Huddersfield and Bolton will throw money if they don’t make it. Plymouth will be back, likely MK, Salford and chesterfield will come and throw money at it. We won’t get a chance like this year and likely to be even further down the wage list next year.

Lots of people will disagree with me, but I think Kavanagh could deliver at L1 level or above.

His goal scoring and assist record isn't bad at all when you take into account minutes played. He made an important contribution to our L2 promotion.

Also he's only 22. I think he gets too much stick considering he's still developing. He hasn't shown much this year, but also hasn't had a sustained run in the squad.

I suspect he'll be one that comes back to bite us if we let him go.

 

Walsall have an aging forward line,with Matt,and Adomah,so they might fancy someone younger.

Suppose we signed a 22 year old with 9 goals and 5 assists in 2506 mins (equivalent of 28 games) last season in League Two. 0.55 goals/assist per 90 mins played.

I think most people would be excited about this signing, no?

 

I would be underwhelmed with this one.

Never got going at Walsall, just the 3 goals for Northampton since signing on loan in the summer, surely we can do better for this position?

It’s a fine line between blowing the budget on quality loanees and not having as much to spend in the summer, or trying to get over the line with better quality than we have. I think we only need tweaks and not wholesale changes.

 

Doesn't scream upgrade on paper, unless he is the Kav replacement and we are still looking for the Cook replacement?

Sounds like things went better at Northampton than Walsall. Their forum paint a picture of a quick lad for his size, presses well and was unlucky in front of goal (got one or tow of them already) but he's only 19 i suppose. Apparently they think he had a bit of an attitude issue?

 

Man Utd have recalled him from Northampton. You would think they would leave him there rather than loan to another team in same division, especially if settled there?

 

Northampton fans paint a better picture of him than Walsall fans but suppose it depends on how we'd use him?

 

We wont be expected to develop either...they are 23 and 24 and clearly have no future at Newcastle. It will be a 'try before you buy' deal or to help both find a new club.

 

Think ive learnt over time it's best to wait and see what you get when signing a player rather then speculating on whether they're good enough.
